- Jim1,561 contributionsShanghai Natural History Museum is a 5 stories museum focused on natural history. The entrance fee is RMB 30. The entrance includes one of 2 showings (big bang, Jurassic) that you can choose to reserve and view. To see the two showings, you need to install the wechat app, install the associate mini-program and make reservations. The showing is in a dome theater, in which the seat will move during the movie for the effect. The visual quality of the showing is poor though.
The Shanghai Natural History Museum has quite some exhibits. Some of the highlights are: a big collection of fossils (including many dinosaur fossils, even moved some huge chunk of stone fossils from remote sites to the museum), a large gemstone collection.Written 11 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is rather expensive, undeniably, but completely worthy as it can be an eye-opener for those who haven’t watched it before. My first encounter with acrobatic performances was through television, but watching it live feels real and magnified, and as a form of cultural exposure to Chinese arts.
We purchased the ticket online and collected the hard-copy ticket on-site by exchanging details of our purchase. It took us at least half an hour to find the exact location of this show through asking around, after alighting at Shanghai Circus World train station. Luckily, we were on time to watch the performance and the show did not start promptly too. The number of audiences was like less than half of its full capacity, and mainly tourists. We were allowed to eat while watching this performance. Mum bought a pop corn at RMB 40.
After the performance, we decided to purchase their DVD at RMB 150 as souvenir. I was the only customer buying this DVD. The other tourists were rushing back to their tour bus.Written 12 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The neighborhood outside of the park has many other artistic aspects. Good restaurants, boutiques, shopping, strolling and more.Written 24 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - That Dubai BloggerDubai, United Arab Emirates284 contributionsThe place is huge and can accommodate a number of people and the scenery is so beautiful. Attended a travel fair there and I really enjoyed how it looked and how easy it was going with public transportation, like 5 minutes walk from the MTR. - Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada9,226 contributionsI spend a lot more time here than expected when I go to Shanghai. They have a lot of really good restaurants like Barbarian, O'Mills, Shake Shack and a few others in and around. The mall itself is nice and clean and there are plenty of shops for any budget but they have more high end brands than anything.
The Kerry Center is right outside Jing An Metro station and they were checking for green Shanghai health codes when I went in February. In the past they accepted any green health QR code.Written 8 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’ve been coming back to that place and I’m always super happy when walking out. Yesterday I was in Helen’s hands, we did lymphatic body drainage and face treatment called „regenerator” and oh boy! never felt better. Helen’s got some magic in her hands :) Thank You SkinCity, i’ll be back soon!

- DazzahhShanghai, China130 contributionsYou need to book through Wechat, which is all in Chinese although the process is not too complex, and it says that you need to take your passport, as locals will have to show ID cards. I went with three foreign friends and I was the only one that showed my passport. You choose a one-hour time-slot and we were done in 35 minutes, and that included the first 10 minutes where we were kept waiting while a news crew was filming something.
Apart from the material on display - of which there is not a lot - and the photos and signage, this could be any of the other "former residences" I have visited in China.
There really isn't a lot to see and as China likes to "restore" places beyond their former glory, the experience isn't anything like authentic. I have seen descriptions of the museum that mention displays of living quarters along with wax figures, these seem to have gone with the revamp.Written 26 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TomeloulinQianjiang, China149 contributionsLike the title said, this is a private apartment, but also a famous apartment too.
The private is, this apartment was builted in 1930s, and always kept it original appearance like what it used to be - a private apartment.
The famous is, a Chinese writer Eileen Chang Reyher ever lived there.
I came in there was just for a memorial things, for a writer- Eileen Chang Reyher.
I feel glad- because the apartment is still here. I hope the old Shanghai's history can be keep and going on.Written 2 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
