- Jim1,529 contributionsWe visited Shanghai Disneyland in a midweek day in December. It is a low season in China, and Shanghai Disneyland offers a discount of a RMB 100 food voucher if you purchase the ticket online or via app at least one day prior. The entrance ticket is 475 RMB, which is quite reasonable considering the number of major attractions hosted at Shanghai Disneyland.
We arrived the park at 8:30, around park opening time. However, we learnt that if you planned to make the rope drop, you probably will need to arrive 1hr before the parking opening. The reason is that there is a very long walk and queue line between the taxi/hotel shuttle drop off parking lot and the actual park entrance. You also need to pass both security and park entrance, which slows down the queue.
As we are visiting during the low season, the queue length for the attraction of the park is quite reasonable. The attraction with the longest queue is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, at 75 minutes. The other rides are as follows: Tron at 30 minutes, Soaring over the horizon at 30 minutes, Rex’s Racer at 30 minutes, Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh at 20 minutes, Peter Pan’s flight at 20 minutes, Voyage to the Crystal Grotto at 20 minutes, Pirates of the Caribbean Battle for the Sunken Treasure at 20 minues, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit at 30 minutes. The wait is pretty bearable, without the pricey Disney Premier Access pass. Considering the size of the Shanghai Disneyland park, it has quite a good number of headline attractions to keep the visitor entertained.
Overall, we find the Disneyland experience pleasant, and the staffs are friendly and hard working. We have watched the parade, and find that the cast members on the parade work pretty hard to engage the audience.
As our ticket includes a 100 RMB food voucher, we dined at the Disneyland Resort. Overall, the price and the quality of the food is reasonable considering that we were at Disneyland. The redemption procedure of the food voucher is a bit complicated. You have to first scan the ticket with Disney WeChat app or Disney app, and then redeem the voucher at the restaurant. Many restaurant ordering stations fail to process the voucher, and you have to go to a special human assistance station to process the voucher and the order. Though the human assistant is quite helpful to assist us with the food order.
Due to the poor air quality during our visit, the Shanghai Disneyland cancel all fireworks for the evening show. It is One of the best luxury malls in shanghai. Has most of the luxury brands. The price very good especially for shoes. - Jamie H-DPoole, UK2,288 contributionsA very interesting place to be, be prepared to have people pouncing on you as soon as you look or point at something… offer about 1/4 of what they are asking and gradual haggle upward, the most I would pay is half of what they ask, otherwise the price isn’t much different than at home in the UK. - Jamie H-DPoole, UK2,288 contributionsA walk along the rivers embankment is certainly something you should do when in Shanghai, on one side you have the ultra modern financial district with the skyscrapers and on the other you have all the old architecture, seeing so many boats go along the river with people enjoying the views. Enjoyed watching the penguins being fed. Amazing sharks, rays, upside-down catfish, puffer fish, dancing jellyfish, and more. - Jamie H-DPoole, UK2,288 contributionsTo get to the area where the lift to the viewing platform is can be a little tricky to find first of all but then it’s straightforward. My husband and I had pre-booked the Skywalk, after some confused faces of staff who didn’t quite understand what we were showing them on the phone finally someone understood and we were give priority access in to the lift and were up within minutes.
The viewing area is very spacious with lots of angles to get some decent pictures, we didn’t have the most clear day which was a shame but it was good enough. There are places to get snacks and souvenirs as well.
Then came the Skywalk, the two members of staff didn’t speak any English (not their fault of course) but it made communication difficult and they already didn’t appear to be in the best of moods. The experience itself was fantastic and something I would definitely recommend to others, being able to lean over the edge, have a bit of fun and sit enjoying the view with the wind in your face was thrilling. It is modern area. Easy to walk or take a taxi or metro. very clean. nice to discover all the corners. This is not a zoo, it is more interactive whereby they have different feeding stations for different animals like flamingos, kangaroos, zebras, elephants.
They have a bus ride (you can choose covered bus or safari style to go through the different habitat.
They also have a circus show running, and different boat rides as well.
The restaurants may not be fully equipped to cater to families with picky children.

I was fascinated by the space science. English description was given and it almost took 4 hours to fully see the whole museum. The museum was worth every single minute. There’s different shades of yellow and orange.
