I can’t say enough good things about this tour. I travel a lot for business and have done a lot of tours, and this is among my favorites so far. My tour guide Xing was knowledgeable, very strong in English, and easy to talk to.

The water town was definitely my favorite aspect of the tour with fantastic bargain shopping, beautiful views, and great food. We also visited a garden in Zhujiajaio and the Jade Buddha Temple because the garden in Shanghai was closed due to it being a Monday.

In Shanghai, Xing knew the best places to take pictures and was very flexible, but also made recommendations

Both the driver and the coordinator in the office (Alana) were also great to work with. Alana was a great communicator and followed up to make sure I was happy with the trip. I highly recommend this tour when you are in Shanghai!

We only had one full day in Shangai so we wanted to make the most of it. This was the perfect way to see all the main sites. Chloe was amazing, very knowledgeable, so patient, very flexible when plans changed, etc. Highly recommend if you're looking for an overview of Shanghai. Chloe was also super helpful with shopping tips so don't be shy if you're looking for something special. I got all my Christmas shopping done with some extras for me! Highly recommend, thank you!

Shanghai is a mix of old and cutting edge new... With hundreds and hundreds of apartment buildings stretching for miles. Shanghai is very large and has lots of traffic.
I visited the M50 art district and was pleasantly surprised...visited the K11 mall and it was very "arty"...with interesting bits and clothing. Ate dinner there at the Noodle shop and wasn't impressed. I visited the Jade Buddha Temple and enjoyed the visit. It cost I think 20 yen...or about $2.80.

Annie is amazing!! She was attentive, engaging and pleasant from pick-up to drop-off. The boat ride was beautiful, we toured a family garden and learned all of the history from Annie, and then we ended our trip by walking through the old streets and shopping! I would recommend this trip over and over again! We actually considered coming back for a second tour of this awesome village! The half day tour was the perfect amount of time to see everything and take your time exploring.

We booked this tour because we wanted to take the bullet train and also to see the key sights of Hangzhou at the same time. We were extremely lucky to have Apple as our guide. Apple is an extremely friendly, patient, cheerful and kind person, and we got along very well! Her English is fluent and well-spoken. The weather was not on our side as rain poured down incessantly throughout our trip. Nevertheless, we highly enjoyed the tour, in particular because of Apple's enthusiasm and love for the city of Hangzhou. We had an early and delightful lunch at a place with Hangzhou cuisine, frequented by locals, and with an impressive array of available dishes on the menu. We enjoyed the food, which included the famous and truly delicious Dongpo pork (created, legend says, by the poet Su Dongpo who was once governor of Hangzhou).
We went on to West Lake, which has an unmatched beauty all its own, despite the sweeping curtains of rain. It's no wonder that reams of poetry have been written about it. There were many couples strolling hand in hand, despite the rain. It's a romantic date spot, not just because of West Lake's scenic splendour, but also because of the great romance of Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian, whose enduring love story is set in West Lake. We took a boat ride and saw the three pagodas -- and Apple showed us that it was on one of the Chinese currency notes! We also saw a couple of wild ducklings struggling to navigate the strong current in the waters of the lake.
Our other stop was Lingyin Temple, which is remarkable for its numerous Buddhist grottoes and the magnificent halls/temples which constitute Lingyin Temple. We saw many groups of teenagers and people who seemed to be in their early 20s, carrying flowers as they trooped into Lingyin Temple and offered prayers. The temple itself is a grand structure, with multiple halls filled with towering statues of the deities, and each deity has a special significance in Buddhism. There were figures of the 500 arhats, the Goddess of Mercy, the Four Heavenly Kings, and many more. Apple was an invaluable guide, impressing us with the depth of her knowledge, explaining the importance of the deities and what they meant to the people offering their prayers to them. When rain and traffic jams delayed us, Apple was resourceful and able to quickly arrange for our return back to Shanghai such that we barely lost any time at all. We would also like to thank the driver, a chap from Huangshan, who drove us through a spectacular downpour and rush hour traffic. We would love to take another trip back to Hangzhou in a sunnier season and if so, we hope to have her as our guide again! We would very strongly recommend Apple as she was an excellent guide and also a great person to know in Hangzhou.

The selected destinations will satisfy everyone. We visited an old temple in the middle of Shanghai, saw the beautiful skyline and walked through the old town. Our guide Sarah answered our questions at all times and provided us with great information. The highlight of the day was a stunning garden in the middle of the old town. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Anyone visiting Shanghai should book a tour like this. Thank you for the great experience.

We were staying in Shanghai for a couple of days and wanted to get out of the city and see some of the countryside. This was an awesome tour! We got exactly the trip as it was described and got the best guide, Tom Zhang.

Tom has wonderful English skills! He is very knowledgeable about his country and obviously loves it. He picked us up right on time and was driving a very nice van. We toured in Suzhou and had a great tour of the silk factory. After lunch, we went to ZhouZhang. We walked along the canals and had a fun ride on a boat. It was a great relaxing afternoon in a beautiful part of China.

Tom navigated the rush hour traffic and delivered us back to our hotel. We would highly recommend Tom and this tour. After this tour, we felt like we had made a new friend.

Thank you, Tom, for a wonderful day!

Love this tour! Our guide name is Berlin and she is amazing. She was waiting for us since before the schedule time at our hotel and guided us through all the itineraries. We took the bullet train and then got picked up by a driver in Suzhou. The parks are lovely with the yellow leaves and the historical street walk are full of snack stalls and shops. The restaurant Berlin took us was the best meal in our trip to China really! Beyond the facts about the attractions I also chatted with Berlin about daily life in China and she was very knowledgeable. She even bought me a milk tea and green tea jasmine ice cream to try! It was a perfect day for us and I would totally recommend this tour!

We had such a fantastic day with Jerry in the two water towns! The views were absolutely amazing - as was the boat ride in both locations - one by day under the beautiful willow trees and the other by night with views of the lit water and red lanterns - what an experience!

Jerry took us to all the best spots, including a wonderful local restaurant for lunch and a great lit waterside restaurant at night. We sampled local culinary treats along the way - also some rice wine (very strong! Haha) - and of course shopping! Jerry even carried my shopping bags so I could be free to go in and out of the shops. He was so knowledgeable about the area and the history - wonderful guide!

When we first booked the trip we were worried it was going to be too long of a day, but it wasn’t - it was absolutely perfect! Jerry also let us go at our own pace, which was great!

Thank you Jerry and thank you Amazing City Tours for making our day trip out of Shanghai the BEST!!!
