Excellent tour with Tom. Very knowledgeable. Just the right amount of commentary then you get some time to explore each location before moving to the next place. Quite a bit of driving between locations which is ok because you get to look at the city. A fair amount of walking so wear good shoes and dress for the season. Very hot and humid in September. Lunch was great. Nothing too scary for a westerner.
We started at 8am and was back at hotel around 3.30pm but we were only a group of 3 so larger groups may take a little longer.
Silk ‘factory’ at the end is a little bit of a hard sell but you don’t need to buy anything. Don’t feel obligated !
    Fantastic clean and safe city.

If you want to go see Hangzhou you have to do a tour. Metro is not convenient and taxis charge flat 100-200 RMB because of severe traffic. To see other sites besides West Lake you need to go with private tour. We had private van with AC. Carline was great and fluent in English. She gave amazing detailed historical background on all our sites and knew the best photo spots. Lunch was amazing. Probably the best meal I have had all week in the Shanghai area. I would choose this tour again!

Suzhou is a beautiful place, with lots to offer. My guide, Berlin, was very knowledgeable and fun. She was also very flexible: when I expressed the desire to change a part of the trip, she helped me figure out alternatives. We opted for the Museum on the history of silk, which was absolutely beautiful and informative.

Berlin also helped me find my hat, when I lost it at the train station, and was very present throughout the trip.
    I highly recommend ber.

It was extremely interesting to see the two different towns, enjoy the scenery and savour the local cuisine. The Watertown was nice and quaint, it supposedly looks like how China was in the past. The shops were cute, artsy and reasonably priced. The whole tour felt rushed though. Even though the advertisement indicates 10 hours, we were back at the hotel in 8. The advertised tour does not mention a minimum participant number, but as they only had our 2 person party, they informed us the night before the tour that we could cancel or pay an extra $100. As we had nothing planned and it was too late to get something else, we chose for the extra ‘cash’ payment. Our guide, Tom, spoke English exceptionally well, was very interesting and had tons of things to explain. We learned a lot! He made us feel rushed though. The lunch was very good (and way too much…) in a very authentic restaurant. We would maybe have preferred to eat in the water town, but no complaints at all.
So, beside from the feeling rushed, and the last minute $100 charge, we really enjoyed the tour and are very pleased we choose it!

Careful planning; Carefully designed; Strive to implement; Customer comes first.
The tour guide is interested in Suzhou's local mountains and waters; A grass and a tree; Ming sheng gu Ji; Legends of past dynasties are well-versed and memorable.
It is worth recommending to anyone who wants to visit Suzhou.

Although Tom was extremely pleasant companion and I had great time chatting with him about life, i found this trip a waste of time and money. The description on tripadvisor is really fooling and way too exciting for what you actually get (plus some parts never take place such as the trail). The trip itself - out of 9 hours in total 6 was just on the road with crazy driving which made me quite uncomfortable. The lake - very nice but we spent very little time there, almost running through the park; the boat ride was 15-20min only. The lunch - very low quality. The tea ceremony - nice place but the whole ceremony was 2min, the rest was all about convincing you to buy their products which was extremely annoying; no time to walk around the fields. The pagoda - 1 pagoda that can be seen in 15min. That's it. Then we left. Out of 9 hours the real deal took around 1 hour and a half in total. All in all, it was
WAY overpriced for what they offer and I will absolutely not recommend it. Please also read the reviews on viatar - they give a good overview of what you should expect and mostly share my opinion.

Guide FRED was exceptional - very knowledgeable and customized the trip at the last minute to our desires (Nanjing Massacre Memorial Museum visit). He also ordered and shared a local, fresh Chinese lunch which was much appreciated by all. Communication and coordination for this tour were perfect - no issues. It was complex as it involved taxi’s to train stations, high speed train connections, etc. We experienced zero issues all day..we highly recommend this tour, guide, and operator. Would definitely use again .
