We visited the water towns and then the organic farms with Sunny. The whole day was magical. The water towns are a must see - other world experience. their own little Venice steeped in history and full of cultural snippets and tastes. Travelling to the farm was on its own a great way to see the country. The farm was amazing- full of different plants and animals. We picked the most delicious strawberries which my children loved and sa how lots of other fruits and vegetables grow. It was a fantastic day out from the city experience of Shanghai

We have found this one day trip to Hangzhou a rewarding experience starting early in the morning, and although it was a tiring day we have had fun spending the day under the terrific guidance of Annie, who’s our day tour guide for the trip, as she tirelessly accompanied us from pick up at W Shanghai from 815 am till the trip to Hangzhou completing the train journey back and forth both ways. It was a day well spent with Annie as she was knowledgeable on the Chinese history, sharing both about Shanghai and Hangzhou’s things to do and food to eat as well as the ancient history and cultural aspects in a succinct and diligent manner. Having booked this trip from Marriott Bonvoy app or website, this was connected to Viator to Sunny who whatsapped me immediately on what to do. All in all, this was a nice and enriching experience. Thank you for an interesting tour and all the help you have given us on the trip, Annie.

This tour was absolutely wonderful. I chose to do this tour because I had the opportunity to be in Shanghai for 5 weeks and wanted to take a unique trip outside of the city. I am so happy to have had driver Gu and guide Lynn! They both worked together very well to make sure we saw everything I was interested in. This included seeing Dishui Lake, Yangshan Deep Water Port Lookout hike (beware we walked approximately 15,000 steps on this tour, most of which are stairs), and fish market, as well as picking me up and dropping me off basically at my doorstep. Lynn was wonderful company and very easy to understand and talk to. She hiked all of the Yanghsan Port lookout with me in the 88° Farenheit heat and extreme humidity. Lynn is very very kind and understanding. I would recommend her to anyone! Driver Gu is very considerate and had a very clean, comfortable vehicle with water and napkins available. Lynn took very good care of me and also helped me order some food after our journey. If you are looking for something unique and interesting to do outside of Shanghai, consider this option.

This was the highlight of our visit to Shanghai, sunny (our tour guide) is very prompt, punctual and organized. From the second we booked via Viator, she was in touch and asked us all the right questions to make the trip smooth and easy. She was at the hotel lobby at 9:30 exactly and she immediately took us to a nice Van to start the trip.
On the way she did explain and brief us about everything there to see in Shanghai, as well as, answering all of our questions about life in China in general.
We reached the farm with in an hour, and I was really surprised, it’s not your basic farm, it’s a well developed farm, with a lake, green houses, animals and a restaurant that serves the locally produced crops.
We met a very beautiful and happy Chinese farmers family (who were so hospitable and nice), and after picking up strawberries we had lunch and got set to go to the water town.
We reached the water town within 30 min, and it was breathtaking, it’s so authentic and original with far less tourists than the other well known water towns. It’s so well preserved with original architecture and beautiful canals.
I would make this one of my must do’s every time I visit Shanghai, it caters to both adults and kids. My twins just had a blast at the farm, they didn’t feel the time, and riding a gondola at the water town was just magical. Sunny made sure we had a great time and I would recommend this tour to everyone who needs to see an authentic China.

We booked this tour for the end of August, expecting to sit on a bus for a few hours while driving through town. It turned out quite different and much better!

Since the Confuscius Temple was closed for renovations, the organizer added Yu Garden Markets. They also offered to add some other attractions to the tour but we thought that we had enough on our schedule already, so passed on that. With this, all the attractions were within easy walking distance of each other, so it ended up being a full walking tour (which was fine since the heat was tolerable that day). I am not sure why this is called a bus tour, though.

Our tour guide, Maria, was excellent and made this busy day between two long flights a wonderful experience. She was able to provide an amazing amount of background information and context for the things we were viewing, like the various pavillions, ponds, trees and rocks in Yu Garden, the 23 historical buildings on the Bund, the various high-rise buildings across the river from the Bund, and the main historical stores on Nanjing Road. She also had quite a few little stories and anecdotes along the way which made it much more interesting.

The enterance fee to Yu Garden and some water were provided which was good (it was 28C with high humidity).

Since we were the only customers on this day, our meeting point was moved from the advertised hotels to Yu Garden. On the other hand, we were dropped off at our hotel at the end which made up for the (small) taxi fare at the start.

Maria was also very flexible in when to take breaks, when to move on, and happy to answer our many questions (often only slightly related to the tour). She even extended the time for us by about two hours since we had not moved so fast earlier. Trying to fit this tour into four hours would have been quite rushed.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are extremely pleased with the tour. Maria was a very pleasant person and an excellent tour guide. We happily recommend this tour if you would like to see some historical and some modern parts of Shanghai.

Cindy was a great guide for our trip to huangshan .she arranged everything for us and We’re picked up at all the various sites in a most efficient manner. I think Cindy would be fun to go shopping with and I wanted to do her knock-off shopping trip, but I ran out of time. Thank you Cindy we had a great tour !
