I loved this park, it’s got that Disney charm but just takes the rides up to the next level.

Let’s start with the rides: Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron just take the rides up that notch. Pirates in particular is insane about just how immersive it really is, this isn’t the pirates you’re used to but it just blows your mind as you’re going around.

The park is stunning and the theming is beautiful throughout and is topped off by the beautiful castle as it’s centre. Having watched vlogs and seen pictures before visiting, I was a little worried I was going to be disappointed and it wouldn’t have a charm as it was so big; I shouldn’t have been worried at all. The castle is perfect and the area around it is different to other Disney’s which provides great viewing areas for the nightly shows.

My only slight negative is, this park is big! It doesn’t have the same charm in some areas as it’s smaller counterparts. For example, Fantasyland is spread out so doesn’t have the same ‘village’ type appearance as others.

Also, I can’t wait to see what they do with this park in future. It’s clearly been built with expansion in mind so look forward to seeing how it matures and progresses.

NOt a bad experience. Lots of rides (more than Disneyland - or so it seems) Line for rides only take minutes so you can have a full day of entertainment

It was sooooooo far away for us to go from Pudong but we tried and succeeded. 1.5 hours on metro and another half hour bus ride. We also found out that we had to stop at Zuibaichi metro station Line 9 ( NOT at Songjiang Xincheng - because the bus there is no more working the route). So we stopped at Zuibaichi metro station and took Bus No. 6. Stopped at Beisong Highway at Chedunzhen. The film park is another 5 min walk to the front on your right.
Entrance fee was 80 Yuan. Huge park. Highlight for us was we managed to catch a movie shoot in progress - a fighting scene.
Park is filled with famous buildings and areas around Shanghai. Nanjing Road in the 1930s was spectacular. Good park to walk around and take lots of photos. Cafes are around for drinks n food.
It was not crowded when we were there last weekend so we liked it.

Because it's old, the crowds stay away. There is no line up for any ride and you can get around pretty quick. The tickets are cheap - 130rmb for adults and 60 for kids. But... Beware! Not all rides are included. Also, because of an accident a few weeks back, the boomerang roller coaster was still closed.

This is a nice park located in people's square. It is within walking distance from JW Marriott hotel.

Other than the fact that it is a beautiful garden tucked in the middle of the city, there is an interesting feature of this park. This is where parents will advertise the availability of their children using umbrellas. The background history and BIO data are written on paper and placed on top of an umbrella. Judging from the number of people who are walking around, they are serious about matchmaking through this means. This place is worth visiting, simply just to see this aspect.

It worthwhile to visit if you’re in Shanghai for longer than a week. You’ll have to spend more than one and half hours to travel to the place. As of November 2023 the best way to get there is to get on to Metro Line 9 and then get out at Songiang University Town station and then from outside the station on Tram 2 which takes you there. The Taxi can also get you from that station there but will probably take as much time and will be much more expensive. I paid 50 Yuen.

Children’s Day visit- was totally packed, but luckily had bought tickets online so could skipped the lining (at least 1 hour they said).

You can see sharks, eels, rays, tropical fishes and educational environment for children. They have even some learning points to the young once about plastic in an ocean.

Only minus was the lack of elevators and ramps for the baby cart. Had to carry them up and down from the stairs. (good sports activity).

It’s a bit far away compared to Shanghai ocean aquarium by pearl tower in Pudong. However they are building a metro station next to the place ( ready 2020)

Walking around during the Chinese New year can be quite challenging so make sure you have plenty of time and water. It was a peaceful and happy day riding a boat with family on the lake!

This is a great place to refresh on a summer day with your kids. The attractions range from baby pools and water games to massive wave pool and fast slides for adults. The river is my favourite ride although parts of it are a bit scary for smaller children.
As for the complains in some of the previous posts:
    - yes, the park is a bit expensive and a bit crowder, but just avoid weekends and you'll have plenty of space to have some great fun. After all, most places in Shanghai are crowded on weekends.
    - yes, the food in there is nothing special. But you're going for the slides and the waves, not for the restaurants. Bring your own food if you're picky.
    - the complaint about the swimming shorts sounds ridiculous to me. It is the typical foreign guy who thinks he can bend the rules just because he is a laowai. Rules are rules, my friend, same for everyone, no matter where you come from. Those guys are just doing their job.

Great photo op when walking past at night. Conveniently located next to a foot bridge. Not sure what’s inside.

First time visiting the park with low expectation.

Quite a surprise to find lot of activities suitable for kids but some of the amusement have to wait for at least 45-minutes, this is event when the park only about 20% fill what makes it worst is the air circulation in the waiting area make things not comfortable.

The center piece attraction is the Dolphin show. Quite tricky with the pricing as there is an added fee of RMB 90 person if you want to jump the queue.

    Overall is good for kids.

4 of us went to universal studio parks at 8 am I first ride we were in line for 1 hour 45 minutes. We only got to get on 4 rides in an 8 hour day! Most of our day we were in lines not a good cost value in my opinion. The ticket was over 200 dollars per person. And FYI no military discount if you only buy a one day ticket I don’t understand that.

We visited Legoland Discovery Centre on Sunday afternoon, expecting to spend a few hours here. Tickets can be bought online via their wechat (170 RMB) or at the door (200 RMB) - they do not offer family tickets or discounted tickets for children, so a trip for two adults and one child came up to 600 RMB. For what it was, we thought it was a little over priced, or at least they should offer discounted tickets for families and children.

The centre itself is on the second floor of a mall called Parkside Plaza (nearest metro is Changfeng Rd line 13), and it is opposite a large park and aquarium. You can buy tickets for both the aquarium and Lego discovery to save money on tickets. The centre is very small but the Lego theme is consistent and well put together. There are three main attractions - a laser shooting game, a ride and a 4D cinema (with regular shows throughout the day).

All attractions were cute and my sister had a lot of fun riding them, there were also two indoor playgrounds, a Lego friends area and an area in which kids can build their own cars and test them out on tracks (lots of fun). There is also a cafe with a wide range of imported and local snacks and drinks.

Overall, our visit was quite sweet but much shorter than intended (we were only there for a couple of hours). We hope in the future they’ll be able to add more activities and add family friendly tickets!
