Amazing place. All the old buildings have been so well preserved. It looks amazing at night. And the view across the river at the Pudong district is quite a sight

Take your Shanghai pictures memories here, the world famous views of pudong can be take. Here. Plenty of good spots to admire the shanghai skyline, take the rivers cruises and walking distance from many touristy places like the bund, Nanjing street and upscale restaurants. It’s a must while you visit Shangai and never regret.

This street began in the Ming Dynasty era. Today it is located next to Yuyuan (Yu Garden) and the City God Temple. Perfect place to visit to get a feel of original old Shanghai. There are antique shops, jewelry shops, Chinese attire shops, boutiques, souvenirs and cafes. Great street to slowly enjoy and if you find something you like, don’t forget to bargain!

I stumbled on Anting German Town or Anting New Town as it is known. It’s weird walking along and suddenly seeing German styled buildings - the place was designed by Albert Speers son!
It’s interesting walking around, but there is not much else happening, besides a few photo opportunities. It’s also far away, but if you are their, the Auto Museum is very worthwhile visiting.
Anting Old street, there is also not much to see.

Tight myraid of alleys with little shops selling similar stuff. Commercialised little area next to a mall, visit when you are in the neighbourhood but not a must.

Holland Village is also known as Gaoqiao New Town. You actually have to walk pass the old town to reach Holland Village. It is a good 20-30 minute walk but a good one as the old town is fascinating too. There were a few stores and restaurants operating in Holland Village and a grand Chinese restaurant. Other than that the town is intact for photography and a very quiet one. Beautiful architecture. Wish people would start up the town and make it alive like Thames Town. It was so beautifully designed.

When we were there, almost the whole town was under renovation or at least I hoped that new businesses are coming to town! Sweden Town is also known as Luodian New Town. Take Line 7 all the way up to Meilan Lake. From the metro station, when you reach the main junction, you turn right (bridge) to Sweden Town and left to Luodian Old Town. Easy. Just lots of walking. Sweden Town is located opposite a huge lake so that’s really pretty. Plenty of restaurants. I believe they are working to make this town alive. I am happy!

A small hidden gem old town. Good to visit after visiting Sweden Town (Luodian New Town). A good 20-30 min walk though! Lovely to see any old town, in my own opinion, especially for anybody who like to learn more about China.

Huge village park but sadly it is not properly maintained. Parts of the river are dirty. Dirty ponds. Rubbish everywhere. Hedges were not trimmed. Some parts of the park are unkempt with tall grass. However, there were lots of flowering trees. Pretty flowers. Just need more cleaners to keep this place clean and tidy. Plenty of visitors though as there’s a children’s playground here.
