This temple complex is noted for its jade Buddha statues imported from Myanmar. We were only expecting a couple of statues but this complex had a dozen different status including three reclined Buddhas and the Jade Buddha, which you were not allowed to photograph. The grounds are well maintained.

As one of Shanghai Tourist attractions, this is a-must visit.

It costs 50 yuan person. Q line for payment by Alipay and Wechat Pay is different.

Temple is historic place surrounding with high-rised buildings.

There are a lot of local and foreigner tourists at this place.

As one of landmarks in Shanghai, you should visit this place anyway.

Location is heart of downtown as easy to reach by subway Jing An station.

    Recommended.

Longhua Temple is very beautiful and the metro is convenient . I saw that the surrounding area is full of ginkgo trees 🌳, flowers 🌸 there are a lot of cats 🐱, the whole temple gives me a very inclusive feeling.

Enjoyed my visit to this temple. Really quiet. The biggest surprise was the tea-pot collection at the back of the complex. Beautiful! It’s well maintained

We left our hotel late on a Sunday morning in the middle of December 2024, and then took the subway to St Ignatius Cathedral, so that we can attend the English mass at noon. St Ignatius Cathedral is also known as Xujiahui Catholic Church or Xujiahui Cathedral, and is the Catholic cathedral of the Latin Church diocese of Shanghai. It was designed in the Neo-Gothic style by William Doyle and built between 1906 and 1910.

There are many people taking photographs outside the church. As there will be mass, the church volunteers also politely asked if we are attending mass as tourists are not suppose to be entering for viewing of the church when mass is in progress. The structure both inside and outside the church is beautiful and the choir during mass was excellent.

From our search, the mass timings are as below (but please do an independent check in case these have changed):
    Mass on Ordinary Days -
    Mondays to Saturdays: 6.15am & 7.00pm
    Lord’s Day Mass -
    Saturdays: 6pm
    Sundays: 6.00am, 7.30am, 10.00am & 6.00pm; 12.00pm (English Mass)

Do drop by to admire the architecture if you have time.

It is really disappointing to climb up that hill and find the church closed. That’s what happened. The not so smart people here at TA refuse to publish this notification for some reason, so this is the second try, as I would have appreciated if someone would have told me.

Very zen atmosphere. Monks chanting made it even more beautiful. Built in 1320!!! A wooden temple. Amazing! Lovely to enjoy the architecture, the bell walkway, the canal, the pagoda, prayers in all halls.... perfect to spend half a day here.

Quaint. Kind. Peaceful. Reflective. A gem hidden in plain sight. One of the smaller temples in Shanghai, but it's sincere and worth a visit. Small entrance fee of 10 RMB, ticket counter to the left of the entrance gate.

This was a lovely temple. The white jade Buddha was different. I especially liked the reclining one in one of the side rooms.

The outside of building do have little Chinese elements, but still look like generic mosque that people usually identify with(squerish, dome, etc).
Inside the the mosque perimeter theres few sub buildings, with chinese elements doors n windows.
About Friday prayer time at least in winter, the Adzan is at 1pm, and starts with Tazkirah in Mandarin. The Sermon actually starts at 1:45~ and prayers at 5mins later.

The temple is quiet and secluded and easy to access. Staff and polite, helpful and welcoming. The highlight for my daughter was the koi carp pond and the opportunity to feed the fish. The temple buildings are well maintained and nice to wander around

This temple is a great place to explore the new reaction to old religions. The bronze doors alone are worth the trip to see. It is quite straightforward to get to this temple from Shanghai: Take the Metro Line 1 to Lianhua Road Station. Leave the metro station from the North Exit. Turn left and go south past the small office building administering the bus terminal. The bus you need goes to Zhujing (朱泾). The bus leaves from the third boarding stop south of the little office. The correct stop is marked with the characters 莲金专线, which are the name of the bus company. The bus will be labelled: 莲花路地铁站 ↔︎ 朱泾, which means Lianhua Road Station to/from Zhujing. The temple is located in Zhujing. If the bus has a conductor, you will need to say you are going to Zhujing. The fare will be ¥8 and the trip will take about one and a half hours. If the bus has a farebox the fare is ¥11 and the trip will take about one hour. In either case exact change is required. When the bus reaches the terminal in Zhujin, go out the east door of the bus terminal, turn north, cross the bridge, turn west at the first corner. The temple is about a ten-minute walk west. Take the same bus back, but towards Lianhua Road station (莲花路站). The bus likely leaves leaves from Gate 8.

My visiting this place was marked by some ceremony. There was some important people, cameras, and all those stuff... in temple backyard. Out off temple gate is lake and more ancient building. Lake is so atractive for taking photographs, and people often spend more time here than in museum or temple.
