One of the highlights of our holiday in Sri Lanka. This is an amazing experience, the climb is not for the faint hearted but worth it. This must have looked fantastic when it was first completed. You can still see some of the Lion’s claws and there are still some of the original fresco paintings. Beware the naughty macaques, they will grab any food or drink you have.

This ancient ruined monastery in the forest is hardly every visited. It is kept clean by three chaps who live there with a family of dogs and puppies. The site is surrounded by magnificent trees, a stream and a pond. Birdsong fills the air and monkeys howl in the distance. Very atmospheric and well worth a visit but go in a 4x4 if you can. We were the only visitors that day.
Photos of where the chaps live, their kitchen, they were cooking fish curry and some of the site.

The museum has a great open air style to it, but sadly looking dilapidated in places. Nevertheless, worth a visit to obtain background information on the history of the rock and the archaeological finds. Interesting photos of late 19 century archaeological expeditions. Also you there are copies of the frescos which you are not allowed to take photos of on the rock itself, but the museum allowed us to take pictures of the copies.

I really expected this entrance to be at the base of the rock, but you have to climb about 900 steps to get to here, but it is worth it even if you do not continue on.

This is a must do if you are in the area. We were lucky, as because of Covid and the Sri Lankan economy, there were very few people here. We feel very sorry for the Sri Lankan people though as no tourists further hurts the economy.

Back to Lion Rock, the climb is worth it but get a Sherpa, they call themselves bodyguards, as they can help the weakest person still get to the top and back down again. We did it early and we’re great full for the cooler morning air.

Warning, there are no bathrooms except at the bottom, so make sure to use them before you start as it takes hours to go up and back down.

It was a nice experience but the prices are very big even for Europe. Yes it is wood and it is handmade, but is just too much!

We travelled with Milan in April. We were in 4 people. His car is very comfortable and he is good driver. Milan is a very nice person, with big knowledge about Sri Lanka. He can advise and help any time. Always on time. His English is excellent and he is very communicative. I hope one day we will meet again :)

We booked a transfer from Sigiriya to Kandy. Krishan was our driver. We had a good communication before the transfer and he was very friendly. The car we had was comfortable and he drove very good. We felt save at any time. We are glad to recommand him to anybody else. The price was also fine.

Take your binoculars, hop on to a safari truck and enjoy the view of tuskers. We saw peacocks, a fox, a herd of buffaloes, tuskers and a flock of birds. Don't disturb the animals

Pradeep made us discover Sri Lanka for 14 days.
Not only is he an excellent driver who owns a very comfortable van, but he is also one of the most considerate people we have ever met: he has never ceased to watch over our well-being throughout the trip. When the climatic conditions did not make possible the planned visits, he spontaneously proposed modifications to us which all proved equally interesting. He also likes to share his very good knowledge of the country.
In conclusion, we had a wonderful time in Sri Lanka thanks to Pradeep and our children will remember his kindness for a long time.
We wish everyone to visit Sri Lanka, a wonderful country, in the company of Pradeep.

We had a lovely 3 days with Nevil driving us around the Cultural Triangle! He had great knowledge of the area and had some good recommendations on places to stop off along the way. We felt safe on our journey and he was happy to adapt to our plans … would highly recommend!

Thank you Harsha brought me a safe and memorable trip. Harsha appeared on time even my flight arrived at 4am. He always on time and cleaned his car everyday so I could have a comfortable journey. He also tried his best to help arranging tours and recommended some nice spot and dining places which delighted my trip. He is knowledgeable to let you know more about SriLanka. He acted like a tour guide rather than a driver, very good value of money. Thank you Harsha
