We were departing with a group on a boat trip out of Split and initially I was disappointed that weren't staying in Split but no, we loved beautiful Trogir! Enjoy the charm and history while winding through the narrow cobble alleyways with many sights to see, restaurants and shops. Come for the day, have dinner and see it lit up at night, especially along the marina. We spent two nights here and wish it had been longer.

The Cathedral and Tower combined ticket of €5 is worth paying. The tower is quite an exciting climb ! It was very windy at the top but the views over the town were lovely. Take a look down the central hole from the top !
The Cathedral is very ornate for a small town.

This is a lovely, bustling square in Trogir, good for people watching with a drink or coffee, enjoying the sights, cafes and shops. I preferred just wandering through the narrow alley ways. We loved our time in Trogir.

Kamerlengo fortress is among the more impressive sights in the UNESCO-listed medieval Croatian town of Trogir. Built in the 15th century during the Venetian conquest, it was used for coastal defence and it has a total of four towers with beautiful views of the town. Sometimes used for performances, the fortress is definitely a memorable site that's worth exploring on a trip to Trogir.

Went for an evening promenade. After a few quiet days in Pociltej over the border in BiH, it felt a bit of a culture shock to see the crowds and tour booths along here!

Plenty of places to eat and nice views.

The Chapel located in the Cathedral of St Lawrence is embellished with statues of the twelve, almost life sized apostles, as well as four other large statues, including a figure of Christ. The fusion between architecture and decorative apparatus is perfect, full of illusionistic and perspective effects. In each panel of the base a small winged cherub appears to emerge from a small door opened to look into the chapel which houses the sarcophagus of Blessed Giovanni Orsini, Roman patrician and first bishop of Trogir.

It may interest readers to know that I am descended from the Cippico family who once owned the palace. Unfortunately the palace was forcibly taken from us during one of the many wars which wracked the region.
Many centuries have passed since then and we obviously have no intention of reclaiming it, but now simply enjoy the fact that people are able to visit it and appreciate its history.

The church and monastery of St. Dominic were one of several interesting sites that I visited during an afternoon in Trogir. I was walking around the town when I accidentally came upon the monastery and I probably spent around half an hour exploring it. Built in the 13th century, it's one of the most lovely buildings in Trogir and I strongly recommend that you set aside time to visit it.

It is one of many important buildings on the main square. Bulid on the grounds of Duke's Palace, went through several reconstruction. Nowadays there is local Tourist office and also seat of the local authority. Apparently has beautiful courtyard but we haven't been inside.

Dating back to the 15th Century, the Sjeverna gradska vrata is the northern gate to the entrance to the Trogir's old walled city. The structure is adorned with a statue of St. Ivan Ursin. The Gate features a splendid Renaissance design with rounded arches and banded columns. A set of stairs leads to the ramparts of the gate where you can get a close up of the statue.

Nice place with good prices. The fruit gets mushy after a day or two, so eat it quickly! Delicious fruits and they have many local items. We purchased feta and a salami, and the quality was very high. Also lots of clothing, accessories, souvenirs and such.
