Jun was our guide for the day and was a cool guy. He took us through a few nice and easy mountains paths to a river in the valley, then from there round the town of Jozankei. We were lucky that Tonga were training training as Jun took a side tour to show us rugby fans where they were (little bonus). It was easy going and built up my appetite for the curry at the Onsen at the end. Good start to my holiday :) (you may need a little bit of fitness to do this as there is a slight up and downhill), but Jun will go at your pace.

Guide was informative and cheerful. Timings for shows in the zoo were clearly stated. The illumination was absolutely beautiful but do layer up because the temperatures at the blue pond and shirihage waterfalls are freezing. Definitely easier to get to the places using a tour bus.

Kanae was a fantastic host. We learned a lot about local Japanese cuisine and had a lot of fun cooking with her. Would definitely recommend it!
Kanae, thank you for inviting us into your home and a perfect evening!

We enjoyed our day tour with Chieko. We got to explore the city and visit major sites. Chieko was very accommodating and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make sure we got to see everything on the itinerary. Definitely recommend this tour!

We wanted to explore the wilds of Hokkaido and this tour exceeded our expectations. Sumi picked us up from our hotel and drove us a short hour outside of town for a snowshoe/sledding adventure. We did not see another person the entire snowshoe adventure and felt like we were exploring an uncharted snow wonderland. We were even lucky enough to see "little Mt Fuji", which was a treat.
Sumi was full of interesting stories, her equipment was top notch, and she even had hot tea and treats for us on our rest in the snow.
After we had our fill of exploring and sledding, she took us to a beautiful lunch and ONSEN experience to round out the day. As we had never been to an Onsen, she educated us on the process and traditions and helped us get our tickets, etc.
I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Our tour was great! Nori was a great guide and our driver drove us safely from place to place. The van that they used was very spacious and clean. And most of all, I want to thank Misa for helping us out with our itineraries.

We were warmly welcome by Kanae san at the airport. Later we were met by Hiromu san, our guide.

Mr. Kenji took us on the first day to Noribetsu Date Ninja village was fun. We saw 2 shows which were in Japanese. The actors acted enthusiastically. The Ninja maze was so much fun and the photo was great. We then had lunch at Toya lake. View was quite nice. Then off to Niseko. Mr Kenji took very good care of us.

On our second day with HTIT after Niseko, We requested Curling activity which was quite unusual for HTIT but they managed to get booking for 9 people. It was fun.

Our afternoon activity had to be cancelled due to lack of snow. Both Hiromi san and Kanae san went out of their way to find us other activities but were not successful due to lack of snow so we went shopping instead

Next day Kanae san managed to get us other activities which turned out to be successful. They managed to get us kimono dress up and Japanese tea ceremony as well as soba making!!! So our schedule was Moji pounding and chopstick making with the local town people. Then kimono dressing and soba making!!! Busy day.

Snow activities in Bibai would be more suitable for young ones, not teenagers. But the staff there were so attentive and caring.

All in all, HTIT team were extraordinarily caring and attentive. It’s not easy to find food in japan that doesn’t contain dairy nor soy sauce. Hiromi san and Kanae san liaison with the restaurants to successfully provide something for the one person in our group.

    Highly recommend HTIT!

If you are interested in experiencing Japanese food, seeing the sights of Sapporo or just chatting with a local and learning a bit about Japanese culture do a tour through Cityunscripted as we did a couple of days ago.
My 19 year old daughter and I did a 3 hour personalised tour of Sapporo with a lovely local girl, Asuka.
Through Cityunscripted we requested that we wanted to try some local specialties, visit some interesting stores and learn a bit about Sapporo.
They then match you with a local English speaking guide who then contacts you and works out an itinerary.
The communication process via email was faultless.
You can also nominate your start time.
Asuka met us at our hotel, she was lovely, we learned about her life in Japan, and about her family and her travels.
She took us to 2 different restaurants, a soup curry place( a Sapporo delicacy) where we had a wonderful curry soup.
Then on to a beautiful store selling good quality goods made in Japan.
Then to a seafood izakaya restaurant where we of course had some great seafood inc drinks.
Obviously the guides have a food budget to adhere to depending on your requests, had to pay a bit extra for some extra drinks but that was understandable and fine.
    Very full after all that!
Asuka also emailed a few other sights and restaurants to go to in our spare time.
To sum up, this experience was well worth it and I would highly recommend using Cityunscripted and meeting the locals.

A really fun morning of touring local markets followed by a relaxed experience cooking traditional Japanese cuisine. Kenae was the perfect host! Truly a highlight of our time in Sapporo.

We were only the 2 of us (due to Covid limited trip bokings) so we felt really personal and intimate.
Beautiful scenery around Yoichi & Shakotan Blue enhanced by the explanations of the guide. The guide (Yama-san) has a very good English understanding so the communication was easy. It was very nice from him of taking pictures of us on the different locations.
Being an all day tour, we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy all there was to see and do (the guide adapted very well to our more "adventurer" personal expectations).

Overall, a really nice and memorable experience. Highly recommended.
