A great way to see Sapporo from above. The cable car ride is very much enjoy by the children. Up in the top, it is very cold even with jacket on

    Visited with family

    Pros:
    1) This park can be reached via train and bus. Ensure to read and understand the directions carefully because it can be confusing.
    2) Best to visit with a full stomach and bring some drinks and snacks. My family and I visited right before lunch, luckily there was a small cafe inside the park which was quite a walk from the main entrance.
    3) There is a bike rental a few meters from the entrance. Suggest to rent one. The park is huge and easier to cycle than walk.
    4) There were many attractions to visit but my favorite is the pyramid-shaped museum and cycling around the park.
    5) Allot 1 whole day or at least half day to visit. It closes around 5pm so best to start early.
    6) It is definitely child-friendly.
    7) Best toilet to use is at the pyramid-shaped museum.
    8) Wear something comfortable since this is an outdoor place.

The only con I can think of is the insects that appeared around 5pm on the way to the bus station. It was similar to the insects we experienced at the Shiroi Koibito Park.

    A must-visit.

It was already snowing (earlier than expected) when I visited the park in mid Nov 2019. The Park is quiet, and occasionally you could hear the birds singing. The snow is white and fluffy, pouring lightly onto the path that we walked along. There is a beautiful lake within the Park with lots of colourful trees and flowers surrounding, and well decorated by a few Japanese bridges. I just can't stop shooting many nice photos from different angles & locations within the Park.

A MUST GO if you want to learn about Hokkaido Culture, History... in an easy way, visiting different buildings displaced reconstructed (or replicas). Spend at least 2 or 3 hours if you want to enter to all of them (more than 50).

A good place to hang out and take a walk. Plenty of entertainment and food areas. Lovely to be at night with while walking along the walkway.

You can tak subway to the last station, and took bus to there. Not too difficult
In winter there are many activity both free and charge, for example
Free : Tube slider, Snow shoe
    Charge : Ski
I spend 2 hour for snow shoe, walking in theire path, playing the snow and treking to see the greate view, and spend a bit for tube sliding
For ski there are many course for you to try, from biginner to advance, the lift service is available.
Good to be here for someone looking for winter activity

The Mt Okura Observatory is some way out of Sapporo, Hokkaido's main city. You can get the ropeway to the top of the mountain. You get a good view of the city and surrounding countryside. By the way, you can get to the Observatory by public transport.

The park is really nice in the evenings; lots of people; outdoor food options; good energy. Definitely worth a visit during your stay in Sapporo.

The Hokkado Jingu Shrine hoses four deities, including the Emperor Meiji. The Shrine is approached through a torii. It is bad manners to enter the Shrine through the middle of the torii. The torii is meant to frame the Shrine to give the best view. The Shrine burned down in in 1974, but was rebuilt in 1978. The Shrine houses the guardian deities of Hokkaido, it is worthy of respect.

It was really an excellent surprise that I could still catch some really beautiful cherry blossom here in May.
The Hokkaido Jingu was closed when I visited the park in late afternoon. But it was still a very pleasant walk to the Jingu main gate.
Some amazing tulips in the park as well.

It is really worth it, do not miss it. It is one of the big attractions that Japan has to offer, along with the Hanami and (the less internationally famous) foliage. Artists from different part of the world gather here to build spectacular snow sculptures which are then lit at night.

We went during relatively low peak season, so there isn't a lot of visitors, but all animals are available except penguins (maybe we missed them).

The animals looked lively and were making their rounds when we visited. Children loved the interactions though there were no animal shows when we went.

We thought a full 2 hours was sufficient but we ended up spending 4 hours including lunch. There are a few lunch options (half way across all animal exhibits) in the zoo, including a 7-eleven convenience store (right to your right upon main gate entrance). If you opt for pre-pack food from convenience store, you may still have it at a number of indoor resting places close to a number of animal exhibits.

Considering the small fees for adults (kids are free), it's worth bringing young kids to this zoo.

I visited Sapporo in Winter and spent a bit of time in the underground malls. This one was huge, seemed like you could walk for miles or kilometers. There are many access and exits points here to include entering and exiting department stores. There are several restaurants and shops down here. You could spend all day here. For a high trafficked area, it was pretty clean.
