We visited Saklikent for the 4th time, it's so pretty.
Myself and a friend went down the river on dinghies, it was great fun, I've never laughed so much, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also found the area that has all the beautiful flowers, swing chairs water fountains, and seating. If you go, the area I'm talking about is past the market stalls, which is so worth the short walk.

Great location to shops and restaurants

Best to avoid perfume sellers and the ice cream stalls. An ice cream can easily cost £7.50.
Spice or anything sold by weight will cost you and are mostly available in the UK.

Plenty of decent knock off but you need to haggle hard as some don't like to discount
Take GBP as everything is priced in pounds
Paying in TL costs you more

Nice clean beach, well spread out.
Nice restaurants along the front, no pressure sales, beautiful sunsets and views.
Nice just to stroll along the front hassle free.

My favourite part of Fethiye, it’s like a bazaar within the local community.
Lots of market stalls and shops as well as restaurants and bars. Plenty of opportunities to grab a bargain but be aware and stick to your guns on prices.
On the outskirts of the Old town there are plenty of high class shops selling quality products.

we got the bus from fethiye to the valley, and on arrival was a little disappointed! the views from the top was fantastic however felt something was missing. buses come at various times and the wait can be long so opted for a taxi back to the town after staying there less than an hour. the views was fantastic and that was the best bit. I guess atleast we can say we have been there and done it.

the experience may have been completely different if we did it by boat and was at the bottom of the valley.

It's nice to walk around the old town.
There are beautiful streets with umbrellas, lanterns.
At the end of the street of umbrellas is a bougainvillea plant, near it you get beautiful photos.
There are exchange offices, shops with sweets. And if you turn left you can come to a colorful face with spices and fabrics.
A great place to buy souvenirs.

The ancient writer Panyasis introduces all of them except Kragos as cities in the Xanthos Valley, Tlos, Pınara Xanthos and Kragos as children of a nymph Pradixike and Tremile. It is accepted that Tlos is the same city as Dlawa in the Lukka lands in the Hittite texts of the 14th century BC, Tlawa mentioned in the Lycian inscriptions in later periods and Tlos in Greek texts and that its foundation dates back to the 2nd millennium BC. When approaching the city, the dominant view of the acropolis impresses the visitors a lot. The surroundings of the acropolis hill, which is naturally protected by steep slopes, have been reinforced and fortified with walls in places. The early period city walls and rock tombs in the north-east of the acropolis are examples of Lycian culture. The water walls observed mostly in the eastern and southeastern parts were built in the Roman period and were repaired in the Byzantine period using the materials of many structures and even some sarcophagus graves. The walls at the top, made of reclaimed stones, belong to a late-era settlement of a bey assigned by the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. The ruins mentioned above are interesting in terms of exhibiting the cultural phases experienced by the Acropolis Hill in a narrow space at the same time. There is a stadium in which crespis can be counted up to 12 rows of seats continuing parallel to the rampart walls in the area supporting the carefully crafted Roman period rampart walls on the eastern slope of the acropolis. The building groups observed opposite the stadium belong to the Roman period and although their functions are not clearly stated today, they must belong to the agora and its sections. The ruins we observe in the southern part of this area belong to the gymnasium, palestra and bath structures. There is a Roman theatre built on a vaulted gallery in the easternmost part of the site. The stage building of the theatre with a single diazoma has survived to the third floor of the northern section. The Lycian inscription blocks in the northern paradox must have been used as spolia material at the time of its expansion or repair. There is a three-storey bathhouse built in the Roman period at a point overlooking the Xanthos Valley to the south of the stadium.

Expect the usual pushy sales people. The stalls that are more organised with the fake goods will try charging u far more than those that aren't for (what I found) the same stuff! They will usually start with 3x the price they will take. Try not to get too interested as they will even bring their mates from nearby stall to try and give u the hard sell, try walking away....... they'll tend to call u back and offer you a lesser price. ALWAYS DEAL IN LIRA, gey used to the money 👍👍

It is really nice, you should see it. You need to claim some stairs but it is worth it and also you can see a nice view top of the stairs. I can say it is smaller then i expected but if you around Fethiye you must to see!

We got a taxi down into Fetiya and we got dropped of at the taxi rank at the marina , we had a lovely walk along the front and admired all the boats , it's a nice easy strech to walk and there's a blue path for walking r cycling along , the whole marina has bars and Resteraunts and you can easily book a sea trip if that's what you are after, it's a busy place but I think that just adds to the charm
