Yasmin couldn't have done better, helping me to find a beautiful pendant and ring in Tanzanite, within my budget. Tanzanite is so pretty and so much more valuable (to me at least) than diamonds!
If you are lucky enough to be in Tanzania (preferably not doing the Kilimanjaro hike!) it's worth opting for an add-on safari, which is how I ended up with Yasmin and the Tanzanite Experience, which shows how Tanzanite is found, mined and crafted to make beautiful jewellery. (And the "offcuts" are used to create pretty, but less expensive jewellery - so I bought a necklace too).

Nearly all of the reviews left here are of Ngorogoro Crater. Ngurudoto Crater in Arusha National Oark is beautiful, but you cannot enter it, nor are there any lions or rhino in Arusha National Park. 🤨

You will be attracted upon entry by a traditional music. A 2 stories cylinder shape construction. Wonderful staff, many souvenirs, gifts, paintings, wallpapers and statues of people and animals of the region. Unfortunately I missed Tanzanite stones. Hope to have other chance to visit again. I bought some handmade pots. Worth a visit.

We stayed at the Coffee Lodge, Arusha for our last night in Tanzania. The Change Foundation is a brilliant idea, supporting disabled people and recycling. You can walk around and speak with the workers who will be very pleased to tell you about what they are making. You can even try your hand to make items. Everyone is very pleased to see you and they make the most beautiful things. This venture is well worth supporting.

Augustine’s African Adventure was a true adventure! We explored five different national parks and saw so many animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras and more. Along the way we were treated to beautiful accommodations and great food including hot picnic lunches. Our guide, Nickson, was very knowledgeable about the wildlife, and very conscientious and accommodating. I would highly recommend this company if you are thinking about a safari. They are small and pay personal attention to their guests.

The authenticy of sales associate Owen Minja! We met him at the House of Gems retail location at the Four Seasons Serengeti where my husband surprised me with the option to select a stone for my birthday. I think Owen was just as excited for me as I was. He was incredibly professional, taught us about Tanzanite, and was patient with me as I shopped through loose and set stones. I never once felt pressured, just cared for! It was a day we will never forget and we made a gorgeous purchase that we hope to pass on for generations to come. Thank you Owen and the House of Gems!

We went on a 4day safari trip with Matoke tours and our guide Ombeni. It was because of Ombeni we got to see the whole Big 5 from up close. Ombeni was very professional and willing to listen to our preferences. At one morning we wanted to go for an early morning game drive to see the hippo’s on main land and Ombeni made it happen, it was wonderful. Thank you Ombeni and thank you Matoke to show us the beauty of African Wildlife! 🦓🦒🐘 Asante Sana

My husband, my best friend and I joined Gosheni Safaris in our custom 9-day Safari including the calving migration game drive in Ndutu and game drives in Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro. Our adventure was delayed for 3 years due to the pandemic, however, Peter was very patient exchanging emails with us and answered all our questions professionally. Most importantly, he ensured that we got everything (medical, dietary and photography needs) that we asked for during our trip. We had picnics with table cloths, plates, silverware, red and white wine and etc. How nice!

Bariki, our professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful guide had fulfilled our dream of an incredible adventure of a lifetime. With his 13 years guiding experience and eagle eyes, we were able to see the Big 5. Most importantly, we observed the interactions of the beautiful animals, gorgeous birds and cute insects. When he asked us to wait a bit longer, it always paid off. I could not take photos in action without his great suggestions and patience. He is also punctual, clean, drives safely, plans well and is fun to hang out with. We have learned so much about animals and birds from Bariki, asante. Please ask for him as your guide and you will not be disappointed.

If you have the resources, please sign up for a longer Safari because you will not be under time constraints and miss many great animal behaviors. We highly recommend you choose Gosheni Safaris!!

This was our second safari going with friends from a previous trip nine years ago. We chose to go again with Roy Safari because the first experience was incredible. It started again with Susan Wood of A-Way-To-Africa who planned the entire 14 day trip from wheels up to wheels down. Each luxury tented lodge and/or bungalow was better than the previous one.
Our guide, again, was Salvatory, who we lovingly nicknamed Tory. He greeted us each day with a huge smile and a plan that would knock our socks off. Tory has an almost psychic ability to know where the animals are, what time they will be there, what they will do next and how to capture the best angle, light and action for each picture. I probably took about 1200 shots, each one spectacular which can be confirmed by my amazed friends back home. The most frequently asked question was "Do you really get that close?" OH YES! You sure do! No need for a zoom lens when the cheetah is sitting on your jeep or the lions casually saunter up to take a closer look at the visitors - US!
Every day was an unexpected surprise from sunrise to sunset. Accommodations were luxurious and food was delicious. Every night we were escorted back to our tents by Maasai warriors as the grounds were home to multiple elephants, hippos, cheetahs, lions and the like. We actually saw a hippo feeding outside our tent at 3 in the morning and woke up to about 25 elephants in the back of our bungalow showering themselves in a small pond.
There were so many highlights it's impossible to name them all. We saw a rhino (very rare sighting) on one of our first days, hundreds of elephants, zebra, wildebeest, giraffes, 15 prides of lions, cubs, cheetahs in trees protecting their kill, pregnant hyenas, birds, crocs, a snake and even a dung beetle building its home.
Because we were there during migration and birthing we were treated to lines of hundreds of thousands of zebra and wildebeest heading south. It was spectacular. The highlight was Tory spotting a female wildebeest with hoofs protruding from her body. We followed her for close to two hours and finally witnessed the birth and first steps of the baby. Truly a once in a lifetime event!
To sum up a very long review, if you want the best accommodations, the best food, the best guide and simply the best of EVERYTHING - go with Roy Safaris. It will be worth every second and every penny!

Walter and our guide Lawrence made our safari in Tanzania a complete success, exceeding our expectations. During the preparation of the trip, Walter responds quickly to the messages, which is more than appreciable, he is very good advice because he masters the routes perfectly. He was waiting for us at the arrival airport despite the late hour.

Lawrence is erudite, inexhaustible on all animals and patient as we pestered him with questions. He drives like a gentleman on bumpy tracks, which is very appreciable, his English is fluent, it is very pleasant to converse with him. He knows the right spots to ensure his passengers see everything they dream of. For our part, with the exception of the pandas (sorry Lawrence!! ;-)) we saw all the animals, he answered all our expectations and requests, flawlessly.

There is no need to go through an intermediate travel agency in your country, go directly through Walter, communication is easy and mutual trust is obvious.

We had an amazing experience on our safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara with The Lion King Adventures. Our guide, Yusuph was incredible and was so knowledgeable about each area and all of the animals and he knew just where to find them. Traveling as 2 women (mom and daughter) we felt safe and secure with him every where we went. He was very kind and gracious. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend Lion King and ask for Yusuph to be your guide.

RWANDA: we were just in Kigali for five days to see Gorillas, and the Golden Monkeys. Our driver was Kenneth Kabayija. We adored him. An excellent and knowledgeable driver, he took very good care of us.

Once in Kigali, Kenneth took us to the Heaven Resort and Lodge; next day was the Genocide Memorial, then on to Musanze, a gorgeous drive on very good roads, and not very hot as we went deeper and deeper into the hills. We checked into the five-star luxury Five Volcanoes, where we spent three nights.

Shadows of Africa planned the perfect 5-day visit to Rwanda. Luxury five star hotels, superb food, and our expectations were more than met: we met an active family of 11 gorillas, and about forty VERY active Golden Monkeys the following day.

We had excellent communication with Jake from Shadows of Africa in the weeks preceding our trip, with him making small changes to accommodate our desires. We would happily plan any future trip to Rwanda, or Tanzania, with Shadows.

We had an amazing 7 days private safari visiting Amboseli NP in Kenya, Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti and Ngorongoro conservation area in Tanzania.
We have been spotting wild animals from up close, sleeping in the middle of Serengeti where the elephants and giraffes were crossing our campsite, lions roaring around at night… Vehicles were comfortable, we had unlimited drinking water during game drives, the food was delicious and almost all accommodations exceeded our expectations (especially Kibo safari camp in Amboseli and Pumzika Luxury camp in Serengeti, service there was absolutely excellent). Both of our guides – John in Kenya and Emanuel in Tanzania – were professional, attentive and told us many interesting facts about wildlife.
All in all, this safari was once in a lifetime experience and we would absolutely recommend Soul of Tanzania!

We had such an amazing time on our tour with Meru Slopes. Our guide Douglas and chef Buga were so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable that it made the trip seamless and so enjoyable. The landscapes were spectacular and the animals were incredible. This trip was a lifelong dream for us and it far exceeded our expectations. We would 100% recommend touring with Meru Slopes!
