What travellers are saying
- Shane GCalgary, Canada2 contributionsI visited the Tanzanite Experience while completing a walking tour of Arusha. The Experience is well worth doing and interactively explains how tanzanite was brought to the attention of the world, its mining and process for preparing for market. Clinton was great in guiding me through the exhibition and gemstones and he and the other staff at the Experience we all welcoming throughout my stay. The staff are not pushy and allowed me the time to view any stones or jewelry that I wished to see, including the certificates of authenticity that accompany each item. Overall it was a great visit and a great location for those wishing to learn about tanzanite and to purchase a true Tanzanian souvenir.Written 20 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert dMelbourne, Victoria, Australia25 contributionsGreat place to visit just ridiculously over priced. Great artwork and the gallery is wonderful but be repeated as it has about 5 stories.Written 12 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julia S9 contributionsWe had an unforgettable experience with Abraham! He guided us through the stunning Lake Natron area and made our climb up Ol Doinyo Lengai an adventure of a lifetime. Abraham’s knowledge of the region, professionalism, and friendly personality made the journey both safe and enjoyable. He was incredibly supportive during the climb, ensuring we felt confident and motivated every step of the way. If you’re looking for a guide who is passionate, experienced, and truly cares about your experience, Abraham is the one to choose. Highly recommended!

Ngurudoto Crater in Arusha National Oark is beautiful, but you cannot enter it, nor are there any lions or rhino in Arusha National Park. 🤨Written 10 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fi RGlasgow, UK68 contributionsGuide talked you through the various snakes, where they're found, eating habits and how dangerous they are to humans. Our guide was really engaging and the info was interesting, walk around lasted about 45mins. Crocodiles and tortoises to see too. Afterwards we spent 10mins doing guided tour of the Maasai cultural museum which was the right amount of time and info, again friendly guide. $40 for 2 of us probably a bit overpriced for 1 hour entertainment but the snake park does provide free healthcare to anyone in Tanzania with a snake bite so you feel your money is going towards something worthwhile.Written 3 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Margaret FSydney, Australia27 contributionsSuch a wonderful opportunity to visit this amazing community. We were met with great enthusiasm by everyone there - staff and students. The value of education is high and much appreciated by all the students. We were made to feel valued and very much at home for the three days we spent at the school. Meeting Gemma Sisa was a highlight along with the bright and welcoming students in each campus we visited. This is a truly memorable experience that is very rewarding.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steph9616Adelaide, Australia4 contributionsThe Napuru waterfall is beautiful and the hike there and back is very serene. We took a tuk tuk to and from Arusha which was about 15000 tsh. When we got there we had to pay an entrance fee of $10 US dollars which was 28000 tsh because the lady said it varies depending on conversion rate. She made us pay by card and wouldn't accept cash. Then a local guide approached us and took us to the waterfall. He gave us a short option 2hours or a long option 3-4hours. We took the short option and it took us 1h 15mins in total including stopping at waterfall. It is only a 1.5-2km hike to Napuru/ Mt Meru Waterfall but the track is very serene and peaceful. There are lots of creek crossings. It is down hill there and uphill on the way back. The falls were quite popular with locals and were very pretty. It is well worth visiting. We tipped the guide at the end. Overall, I would recommend!Written 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandra H1 contributionThe exhibits are a bit dated but the female Masai guide did an excellent job of bringing it all to life. I didn’t get her name, but she deserves 5 stars! A lot of German boma history to read, natural history including a 160 year old living and breathing tortoise! Gardens, taxidermy and optional local crafts to view and buy. Well worth a visit
