I would give 10 stars if I could - absolutely DO this! Hotel tuk tuk pickup followed by an array of delicious foods at local restaurants (our guide explained each & showed us exactly how to eat the dishes); a drive past local produce markets on the way out of town with a stop in lotus & rice fields to view a gorgeous sunset; and a meal hosted in the home of a local family (the favorite of every member of our group). The final stop for a drink at a subdued & trendy little local bar had some of the most interesting & delicious choices (cocktails with lychee, peppers, pomelo, ginger, the list goes on). Water is provided throughout the trip. Tip: Come hungry & use bug spray.

Our guide, Chann, was incredibly entertaining, spoke excellent English, and was so very informative on any & every question we had. Dietary restrictions or food allergies are taken into consideration, so there is something for everyone.

Take the tour, support the locals, have the time of your life, then give it the 5-star review it deserves (nearly everyone pleads for TripAdvisor reviews as this forum is their best means of advertising). Highly recommended!

A really worthwhile and enjoyable evening. Our host was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. It was great that we were taken away from the tourist zone as this gave us a much more authentic experience. The food was excellent, and allergies and intolerances were accommodated very thoughtfully. High recommended!

We had a great evening with Bunpheng, who introduced us to the locals’ evening market in Siem Reap. We stopped at 3 or 4 separate stalls and sampled a wide selection of local favourites, whilst being entertained at all times by our charming and interesting host.
Highly recommended for an insight into non-tourist SR, and particularly to meet a great local character.

Our guide, Nil, picked us up from our hotel in a tuk tuk, then we were driven to two different night markets and one cafe/shop. We tried and tasted so many different delicious things! Fruits plucked straight of baskets, fried insects, sweets, liqueurs, biscuits, and then a tapas style dinner of savoury pancakes, fish cakes, fried coconut balls, and curried noodle soup. Nil was a fountain of knowledge and we really enjoyed spending time with her and hearing about Khmer food and culture! She was personable, spoke excellent English and her engaging conversation made the tour special. A must-do on your first night in Siem Reap!

Loved how authentic the experience felt! We were able to visit local markets and also some restaurants there was a nice mix. We even had a chance to walk around and visit a couple of the local temples. And there was a nice little surprise at the end!

Although this is described as a ‘private tour’ we assumed, wrongly, that it would be a small group tour but it was, in fact, just the two of us and the guide. Personally I would have preferred it to be a small group as I think it would have been more fun and interactive than just me and my husband walking around and eating with a complete stranger young enough to be our son, as lovely as he was! We were told we would have some local street food and then go on and have some food at a tourist restaurant so we held back on the street food thinking we were going on somewhere else but as it turned out we didn’t. We suggested stopping in Pub Street on our way back but no further food was offered and when we stopped at a bar we paid for the beers, even though the tour description says local beer is included (we hadn’t been offered a beer with the street food). The description also says you are taken to Angchek Angchom Shrine which I had been looking forward to, but we weren’t (and to be honest I had completely forgotten about it until I reread the tour description when we got back) so was subsequently pretty disappointed about that too.

Our guide was a lovely guy but the tour just didn’t deliver what was promised and proved to be a rather expensive night out in a place where it’s generally pretty cheap to eat out.

This tour far exceeded expectations. In addition to the food, we learned much more about the Cambodia history and culture than anticipated. Voath was such a friendly, fun guide and we are so glad we started off our Siem Reap experience here.
