- safcNorthEastnorth east19 contributionsExcellent day with Nak our guide. He was excellent and he went at a steady pace. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of special points. The history was amazing and the trip was fun. Yuk yuk ride was excellent especially the cold towels. - EYeoSingapore, Singapore222 contributionsIt was the 4th temple from our guided tour, and we were too tired to explore Bayon by then. So we made a 2nd visit, and was very glad we did. Spectacular. Don't miss Baphuon temple which is 8-minutes walk away.Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Morten YusupovaBathurst Island, Australia10 contributionsThis temple is famous for its giant tree roots growing over the ancient ruins. It felt like stepping into another world! - places2seeplaces2goEngland, UK7,024 contributionsA busy area consisting of a few streets. Lots of bright lights & loud music.
Not as busy as I’d thought it would be, but then many Cambodians told us that since Covid tourism is not what it was.
Felt quite safe there,as there were plenty of tourist police.
Went in a couple of bars. Very cheap alcohol, cocktails tasted cheap too !!!Written 25 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The wooden buildings have disappeared over the centuries, leavin the magnificent remains of temples, palaces and walls for 21st centry vistors to admire. The scale is awe-inspiring but so is the intricate detail of the carving. An unforgettable visit.Written 8 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jpcheshire1615Wilmslow, UK602 contributionsThis was perhaps our favourite temple of the many we saw in our stay in Siem Reap. It is older (10th century) and smaller than some of the others such as Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat and the scale felt more human. The detailed carvings are stunning.Written 9 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dan LSingapore15 contributionsVery informative and educational session with the team at APOPO Visitor Center Siem Reap. Glad we brought the kids there to learn about the work of APOPO team and the HeroRats and how they are helping to restore the lives of the people affected by mines contamination.Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dylan M22 contributionsThis is a very sobering museum about the remnants of war that kill many civilians. The founder, Aki Ra, was a child soldier with the Khmer Rouge after which he defected and dedicated his life to helping children and demining communities. There is an insane amount of ordinance in the museum that was disarmed by him. Really important history and worth a stop either just for the museum alone or with temples along the way.Written 17 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LSQRD1Kent, OH897 contributionsWe very much enjoyed our visit to the Angkor Museum. It provides a chance to view a range of sculptures and gain more understanding of the temple. I think we were able to appreciate this well because we had a guided tour. The building itself is nicely done and the gift shop was great--lots of unique products.Written 18 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Isabelle D4 contributionsMade in Cambodia is a must visit market in Siem Reap if you are looking for high quality items and want to support local artisans. Each stall is different, it's smaller and quieter than other markets and so the experience is far more pleasant. The main thing is that you'll find excellent quality goods. I bought a blanket from Sokhem at the Art of Textiles in 2016 and it's still so soft and the colours vibrant 9 years on I wanted to buy a different colour. Superb quality, choice and a great price.Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Julia @Scrumptious SolentSouthampton, UK4,579 contributionsInteresting temple which was dedicated to the kings father. It took 5 years to build and has a mixture of rooms/buildings including a library and a room where the kings sacred sword was housed. There’s a dancing room featuring many carvings of the apsara dancing ladies.
I liked the mixture of complete walls/rooms and carvings and other areas that had obviously collapsed over time. It’s a ‘flat’ temple which means you get great ‘lines of sight’ through the many small rooms and doorways giving a fabulous perspective to the north, south, west and east.
The surrounding temple walls have large carvings of Garuda on them and the whole temple is surrounded by a moat.Written 26 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
