I have lots of fun with my youngest daughter. Spending my 66th birthday here on board Dhow cruise.at the Creek. It was my unforgettable birthday and for being my first time to visit Dubai. I have a 20 days grand vacation in this luxurious travel destination that is Dubai. Very grateful for the moment in my waning days. Thanks to my daughters for giving me this gift of my lifetime.

This was absolutely amazing! So much jewelry and everything was so sparkly and shiny and eye catching. if only I had money to buy some of the gold jewelry. Window shopping was fine though.

Good little museum, we visited one morning as part of a Dubai City tour we had booked. Quite small, but it provided an inside of how houses were in old Dubai in years gone by. We didn’t spend much time there but worth a visit if you’re passing.

It's a local shopping experience for perfumes, sunglasses, handbags etc. You will find variety and people are very enthusiastic. Best place to buy chocolates 🍫 😋

Interesting historic district of Dubai dating back to the 1890s. Also known as the Al Fahidi Neighborhood. Several small museums and cafes in the district. Nearby is the Al Fahidi Fort and Dubai Museum and Dubai Creek where you can take an Abra across the river to explore the Old Souk. Al Seef along Dubai Creek is also nearby and worth exploring.

I have been to Dubai many times but never been to historic part of old Dubai. This time I made effort. Getting down from nearest metro station, I kept on walking towards Al Fahidi Historical neighbourhood. The place gave me a sense that local Dubai people is not only about glittering building, they lived a Bedouin life in tents in deserts. Coffee museum and cultural center were good to visit. Then took a boat ride across the river to go gold souk. Overall I had expected little more from the place. It stills shows concrete houses in old design. Instead, there could been tents in the desert. I would say, it’s a good to have visit, not a mystery-have visit.

It's not the most spectacular boarding point. That one is on the shore of Bur Dubai. But this is also interesting. There are a lot of abra boats waiting for their customers, while others are constantly going back and forth on the canal. The price of an abra trip is only 1AED.

This was somewhere high on my priority list because I wanted to be immersed in local culture. This certainly achieved that but is definitely overwhelming. There are lots of stands and the sellers will try any tactic to get you inside including physically grabbing you, steal my husbands hat so he had to go back inside to retrieve it and dressing you up for a picture then trying to convince you to buy it because they already dressed you in it. There are some lovely spices and souvenirs but we preferred to buy from people that let us shop without the harassment. Be really careful visiting if you have anxiety.

It’s okay but repetitive and compared to other spice markets in the world fairly underwhelming. Still felt safe considering how pushy the traders were to get you into their shops

This is a nice small museum and only costs 10 Durhams to enter. It includes free coffee and dates. Lots of antiques and some explanations of the history of coffee, such as the first coffee houses, Japan making the first instant coffee and Nestle making the first freeze dried coffee. Nice and cool inside so a good break from the heat, definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes coffee.

The house is very attractive and it has been beatifully restored.
The architecture is very beautiful and there were particularly beautiful wooden doors and windows.

XVA gallery is hidden away in the old part of the Dubai. It is an art gallery with a cost cafe and restaurant. I recommend coming in just to see the artwork. Not sure how frequently it’s changed but we really enjoyed some of the art installations by local artists.
I am surprised this place is not more popular..
