We were going to move up to the Peak using the tram. The direction from Google was to take a Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui and then to take bus 15C. When we crossed over to Central Pier, there were no bus 15C so we just took Bus 15 that took us to the top of Victoria Peak and went through areas like Wan Chai etc. Great for us as visitors here in Hong Kong as we were "kind of" a tour bus but yet using their public transport which was so convenient and reasonably priced. Amazing view at the top and we were blown away by how many condominiums located on the hill side of the peak, even a hospital, Police Museum, school, huge shopping centre etc. It is a community living at the Victoria Peak! It is not just a tourist hill side visit! Incredible! Highly recommended bus trip (No 15 to the Peak from Central Pier) for new visitors to get an insight of life in Hong Kong!

Eventhough the area is bit larger than USS Singapore, I feel here is smaller just because the too crowded the people, start after lunch time.
Coming here at 10am and we got special lane, since we were stay in Disneyland hotel, this is important, because you can save 30 mins if regular lane.
Strong advice if you are tourist, you buy VVIP ticket for special lane for 8 riding, you will save a lot of time compared to regular lane for each riding.

Lunch time need to 1 hour advance, or you will be stuck in every restaurant in Disney park.

Waiting for Christmas tree show was absorbing our energy since we need to waiting 45 mins before start.
As well as, we were waiting for fire work show at 9.30pm.

Actually, for the show, are not too interesting. Also not too many characters surrounding in the park, so we cannot the photo, just a few of characters which are not special one.

If you stay in Disneyland hotel, you will feel comfortable since no need have long trip from the park to get a rest after whole day walked for 20,000 steps.

Email me if there is anything you want to know.

I think enough for 1 time come here, since feel boring and not too special atmosphere.

The Star Ferry ride in Hong Kong was a lovely escape from the bustling city. The gentle sway of the boat on the harbor, combined with the scenic views, made it a peaceful and enjoyable experience. It’s a relaxing way to take in the sights of the city.

The experience was great, and I saw many things. However, it is best to come early since there will be a long line for the cable car to descend (at least 30 minutes). Despite this, the staff is very attentive and kind, and they even handed out food, warm water, and heating pads for free since it was winter.

I had the opportunity to revisit Nan Lian Garden in Diamond Hill, Hong Kong, 13 years after my first visit, and it remains a truly captivating experience. This Chinese classical garden, designed in the Tang dynasty style, continues to offer a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle.

Spanning 3.5 hectares, the garden is beautifully landscaped with hills, water features, and a stunning collection of Asian pine trees and rocks. The pine trees, symbolizing dignity and bravery, lend a scholarly ambiance to the surroundings, capturing the essence of Chinese culture.

The garden is easily accessible via public transportation—simply take the MTR to Diamond Hill Station and exit at C2. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and with free admission, it’s an inviting destination for all.

Adjacent to the garden, the Chi Lin Nunnery is a must-visit. The complex features beautiful lily ponds in various colors—pink, purple, white, and yellow—that add a vibrant touch to the serene surroundings, enhancing the garden's natural beauty.

I am particularly impressed with all the Buddha statues here. They look peaceful, calm, and graciously stunning. The beauty of these statues is that when you look at them, you feel peace, calmness, and serenity. Having seen many temples throughout Asia (Japan, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, etc.), I personally find the expressions of these Buddha statues in Vietnam and China to be gracious and calming, unlike those from Thailand, which I find somewhat unsettling and scary. On a side note, Westerners and American-born Asians are often accustomed to wearing shorts and sleeveless tank tops while traveling. Please note that although Hong Kong is very much influenced by British culture, Buddhist temples are places of worship, and thus, shorts, hats, and sleeveless tank tops are not allowed.

The garden also offers rock and bonsai exhibits that should not be missed. These exhibits showcase the meticulous care and artistry involved in traditional Chinese gardening practices.

Returning to Nan Lian Garden after so many years was a rewarding experience. It is a timeless sanctuary that continues to offer tranquility and beauty in the heart of Hong Kong. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning, as I did, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression.

Our first night in Hong Kong we took a short night cruise to see the "Symphony of Lights." Our boat left the pier about 7:20 and the light show was at 8:00. We were on board the "Dreamer." It was very reasonably priced. We were promised unlimited drinks and snacks, which for us turned out to be a bowl with some mixed nuts to share and a coca-cola. Which was fine. The harbor is beautiful and the light show very fun. Very "Hong Kong" - unlike anywhere else in the world.

I come to Hong Kong many times and each time, I always try and go to Lantau Island. A tranquil escape from Hong Kong. This is a good option if you are in transit and have some time to kill, as it is close to the airport. The cable car is the best way to reach Lantau Island. Easily accessible from Tung Chung MTR. Lantau Island has a lot to offer from beaches to hiking trails, nature and more. There is also the historic Tai O fishing village which is like stepping back in time. You can get around the island by bus. If you are short on time, then I would suggest doing the highlights which is the Tian Tan Buddha statue and Po Lin Monastery. Always go early if you can, as it is quieter in the morning and you can do more.

The Dragons Back hike is a wonderful way to get a little feel of nature while in Hong Kong. It is easily accessible by MTR and bus and the walk is not strenuous. Walking at a leisurely pace the hike may take you about 2 hours. At the end of the trail you can take a walk down to Big Wave Bay where you can get a cold beer and a dip in the sea. The bus stop at Big Wave Bay back to the city is about a 5 min walk from the beach. The hike has amazing views and is clean and safe. Highly recommended.

Our accommodation in Chatham Road was the ideal base to re-explore the area. So vibrant with great shopping venues, hotels, restaurants, landmarks and the myriad of small shops that are so seductive for visitors like us. Its even better at night with the colourful neon signage but the streets are more crowded, it seemed to us that most of Hong Kone dines in the many dining establishments. Wonderful interesting area, one of many in Hong Kong.

We booked our tickets online a few days before. When we arrived, there was a long queue for those wishing to purchase tickets, but we virtually just went left through the doors and got in line to get on the tram. Piece of advice if you can get to the front or near front of the line so you can pick your spot to sit. Some will hog seats for themselves if you allow them to. The tram itself is very clean but crowded, but its a ride worth taking. Great views on a clear day.
There was a number of shops and restaurants at the top. But also a lot were closed in the concourse and levels going up to the viewing platform.

Its a waste if you don't buy a ticket for the viewing platform, as it’s quite difficult to find a good view over the bay without visiting the viewing platform.

There are scores of tourists around so I recommend going straight to the viewing platform first to try and get clear shots of the bay and high rise buildings. It can be pretty hot on the platform as no shade.

We then walked the entire Peak Trail which was wonderful, some of the views as you go along the harbour were better than being on the viewing platform. The trees are lovely for shade and there were a couple fo drinking fountains if you forgot your water bottle.

Highly recommend the tram ride, platform viewing and walking the Peak trail.

If you're descending from Victoria Peak, a visit to Hong Kong Park is a perfect way to unwind and immerse yourself in nature. Easily accessible via MTR Admiralty Station (Exits B or C1) or Central Station (Exits J2 or K), this park offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

Officially opened in May 1991, Hong Kong Park spans 8.16 hectares and is a harmonious blend of natural beauty and historical significance. The site was once Victoria Barracks, and the park retains several historic garrison buildings. Notable among these is the Flagstaff House, now home to the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware, offering a delightful peek into the region's rich tea culture.

As you stroll through the park, you'll encounter an artificial lake and a picturesque waterfall, perfect for a leisurely morning walk or a moment of meditation. The park's layout is thoughtfully designed, with paths leading visitors to the Olympic Square, the Park Management Office, and the Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry.

The central area features modern facilities like the Conservatory and the Aviary, nestled on the hillside near the Tai Chi Garden and Vantage Point. These attractions create a unique architectural ensemble that enhances the park's charm.

Whether you're seeking inspiration, a peaceful place to reflect, or simply a break from the busy lifestyle of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Park provides an idyllic setting. It's a must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike, offering a refreshing and enriching experience in the heart of the city.

This is a long promenade so take your time walking around. The views of the harbour and city are very beautiful especially at night. Few harbour cruises start from here if you wish to take a cruise. It gets crowded close to 8pm for the Symphony of Lights. It is very relaxing walking around here to appreciate the beauty of the city. You will also pass shopping centres and other eateries if you need to drop by any of them.

Calming and peaceful. This is a must when visiting Lantau Island. Located right next to the Tian Tan Buddha statue. Suggest doing that first and then coming here. Be respectful. You don't need to cover shoulders or remove footwear. The Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas is quite something.

Even though it seems far from the city center, this beach is easily accessible as there’s lots of buses going to it. We decided to take the mtr to Ocean Park and walk by the coastal road pass Deep Water Bay before we reach Repulse Bay. It’s a very easy beautiful walk that takes around an hour or so. Repulse Bay is located quite urban and yet has that secluded beach feel. It has a maintained beach toilet for cleaning up after your swim in the beach. There’s restaurants by the beach and an arcade where you can buy water or sundries to eat by the beach. It’s family friendly too.
