Victoria Harbor is breathtaking beautiful. Be sure to ride the Star Ferry across the harbor to see the skyline of both Hong Kong and Kowloon. I wasn't impressed with the 8-minute Symphony of Lights show this time (daily at 8 pm) as I thought the show was more spectacular 10 years ago.

The nunnery is within a walking distance from Diamond Hill MTR, making it convenient to visit when you want to getaway from the buzz of the city. The wooden building is beautiful, perfectly preserved and it's peaceful inside with serene garden in the middle. It's a perfect place to spend some time relaxing and being with yourself while visiting such a busy city like Hong Kong.

Beautiful and well maintained green park in downtown, with ponds full of fish and turtles and also some waterfalls. There is also some cafes and Museum of tea. Worth a visit, a really nice place where to spend at least an hour or two.

Mongkok is a bustling district where Hong Kong's youthfulness, energy and creativity collides with old school culture, buildings and markets. It is a thriving district that is packed with crowds of all ages going about their respective lives and leisure interests.

There are numerous street markets scattered around Mongkok, one that I like is the Nelson Street Wet Market found on the west side of Nathan Road and Langham Place shopping mall and situated between Tong Mi Road (west) and Reclamation Street (east).

Nelson Street is lined with vegetable, fruit, meat, seafood, sundries dealers. You'll find loads of delicious fresh food as well as peculiar finds including fresh tofu blocks, thousand year eggs, Chinese medicine packs, frogs and other things you will rarely if ever see in western wet (food) markets.

The market is under large red umbrellas offering shade during midday when the sun is out. Still better to go from mid to late morning (9.30am) when stalls are stocked up and at their best for pictures. The trade-off is that the street can be packed with shoppers at this time of day as well.

In the end, you can actually traditional wet markets all around Hong Kong. If you are in Mongkok and interested in seeing one, this is a convenient and fun one to visit. Otherwise, it is rather easy to find good options elsewhere around the city as well.

    🌕Hello我係Moon🌕

Still a good looking and clean promenade since I'd visited it before covid era. People were still happy to take a stroll here and take photos without too much worrying, both in the day and night.

A very big, spectacular yet quiet monastery located 10 minutes far from the cable car. It also serves vegetarian dinners with a delicious tofu desert. We would recommend visiting this place as it’s still vibrant and full of Buddhist believers.

We'd visited Tai O recently on a Thursday afternoon. The same Thursday that parts of Hong Kong were badly affected by the heavy rain storm.

To get to Tai O, we took the MTR train to Tung Chung, then walked a short distance to the bus terminal to board bus 11.

It was probably the most scenic bus ride I had taken in Hong Kong, passing through narrow, rolling country roads with views out to the sea.

Weather wise it was a cloudy day, with slight drizzle as we arrived at Tai O. Surprisingly not crowded at all. A lot of the shops were closed that day.

One thing which impressed me the most was the public toilet at Tai O. It was so clean and looked like it had been recently renovated.

We took a boat ride out to the bay area and round the stilt houses in the fishing village. Weather was quite foggy. We didn't spot any dolphins.

The boat ride was HKD 50 per person. But when we crossed the short bridge another boat company quoted a little less at HKD 40 for the same boat ride. Based on my observation the first boat company got most of the business as they were at the right spot to capture the tourists attention.

After the boat ride we took a walk along the main street, passing the coast to the heritage hotel. It was a relaxing day at Tai O.

Consistently in the top 10 things to do in most Hong Kong travel guides, this is truly a memorable experience. However unlike the main attractions this is far less busy. Maybe due to its location or maybe because some walking is involved, I’m really not sure. But I can assure you the trip here is worth it.  The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery is a wonderful addition to your Hong Kong itinerary . the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery was founded in the 1950’s and is not only just one monastery, but consists of 5 temples, 4 pavilions and 1 pagoda.

Tucked away this is not the easiest place to find, but when you do you be instantly blown away by the sight. Lifelike golden Buddha’s, glittering in the sun, stretching as far as the eye can see. As you ascend the 430 steps you will be gazed upon by these looming figures. Quite a surreal experience.  And a great selfie opportunity. Check out each Buddha, each one has a unique and different expression.  Some jovial and some menacing. Choose your favourite!

The statues become grander and more ornate as you climb and at the top is a wonderful temple where you can pay your respects. A magnificent view of downtown HK is provided too. Perfect gift after a long climb.    This is a very peaceful spot, and you can just while away some time here, wouldn’t even believe you are in a mega city like HK

A giant towering pagoda also greets you at the top. All one can do is just gawk at it in awe.  This pagoda is actually featured on the 100HKD bill and is an iconic landmark of this city!  You can have the cnahce to climb the 9 floors and see the vista below you.

You can sit and rest for a while, or snap some pictures.  You can go down again, but this time using a different path. Fewer Buddha’s on this route but watch out for the monkeys. They will appear and try to steal your belongings so be careful!  Or possibly just sit and watch you as you go by, who knows!  Going down you will end up in a little community area, with small houses and local people going aboutt thier business.

The Hong Kong tourism board provided the best travel assistance I’ve ever had - literally anywhere in the world. I found it possible and easy to communicate with the HKTB on WhatsApp, and they quickly answered every question I ever had, including about things to see, how to get tickets, best times to visit venues, how do visa applications, best ways to find transportation, what to expect in terms of Covid travel restrictions and requirements, and everything else under the sun, so to speak. They were surprisingly fast and responsive, friendly and kind, and their advice is always good and on point. They also speak fluent English. I was extremely impressed, and will absolutely continue to use their service every time I come to Hong Kong - which will likely be often. The rest of the world should truly model themselves after the service level of the HKTB, because my experiences that they are the best on the planet! My experience is that your travel will be easy and worry free if you use their service.

A well-maintained heritage site boasting an intriguing design by a Hakka clan, 200 years old. Hear the captivating stories, ask Andy.

the site is closed on Tuesdays

One of the friendliest restaurants on the island. Plus the food is great and reasonably priced. Worth traveling to the island just to experience a taste of Malaysia in HK
