What travellers are saying
- Lucky S1 contributionThe Star Ferry ride in Hong Kong was a lovely escape from the bustling city. The gentle sway of the boat on the harbor, combined with the scenic views, made it a peaceful and enjoyable experience. It’s a relaxing way to take in the sights of the city.Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After the long flight.we landed at honkong international airport and headed to the Best Western plus hotel..
The second day we crossed to Macau.was very nice at the venetian hotel.there was much more this time..londoner qnd other very latest buildings.we had fun.
The second day we went back to hongkong by fast ferry just like as we went.Back in hongkong we tried the cable car! Very enjoyable!
At Victoria peak was fun.good view of hongkong and kawloon.
We wish to visit again to hongkong..Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our boat left the pier about 7:20 and the light show was at 8:00. We were on board the "Dreamer." It was very reasonably priced. We were promised unlimited drinks and snacks, which for us turned out to be a bowl with some mixed nuts to share and a coca-cola. Which was fine. The harbor is beautiful and the light show very fun. Very "Hong Kong" - unlike anywhere else in the world.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,887 contributionsOur accommodation in Chatham Road was the ideal base to re-explore the area. So vibrant with great shopping venues, hotels, restaurants, landmarks and the myriad of small shops that are so seductive for visitors like us. Its even better at night with the colourful neon signage but the streets are more crowded, it seemed to us that most of Hong Kone dines in the many dining establishments. Wonderful interesting area, one of many in Hong Kong.Written 14 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rachelle CTamuning, Mariana Islands144 contributionsI have to say I was a little disappointed. I have been to better markets in Vietnam, for sure. If I had gone with few expectations, I would have enjoyed it better, but I read too much hype on the internet beforehand. I bought a purse and a few items. It was fine. Almost none of the stalls sold actual clothing, however.Written 7 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael VSuva, Fiji140 contributionsThe vast array of mostly clothing items is great. There are some small electronics for cell phones etc available but this market caters more to apparel.
Be prepared to negotiate and spend some time there and you won’t be disappointed.Written 11 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was overall a very interesting exhibition featuring space and the Hall of Fame of brave astronauts, a robot dog, miniature versions of icebreakers, submersibles, aircraft, militaria, and more. Very interesting and guides very helpful.Written 14 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KrazzMelbourne, Australia213 contributionsThis is a long promenade so take your time walking around. The views of the harbour and city are very beautiful especially at night. Few harbour cruises start from here if you wish to take a cruise. It gets crowded close to 8pm for the Symphony of Lights. It is very relaxing walking around here to appreciate the beauty of the city. You will also pass shopping centres and other eateries if you need to drop by any of them.Written 13 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bradHong Kong, China49 contributionsHarbour City is a large shopping mall, there are luxury (Hermes/ chanel) to affordable (Uniqlo/ Muji) brands in the mall, i think everyone can shop hereWritten 8 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Abovetheclouds2,481 contributionsI am not normally a park person but I enjoyed this more than I thought. A quiet oasis away from the busy area outside! Free to enter. Easy to navigate. I spent an hour in there, taking a leisurely walk. There was a Chinese Garden, Bird Lake, Maze Garden, Sculpture Walk and loads more. It was nice. I have been to Hong Kong a few times. Whilst I wouldn't put this high on your list if this is your first trip, I would recommend if you have spare time or enjoy parks and nature.Written 22 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,887 contributionsViewed another section of the avenue, interesting but still didn't recognise any of the names that we viewed. I didn't notice any new artworks since visiting in 2023. Bruce still maintains his fighting stance and is a magnet for the selfie brigade, especially young females.Written 14 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa LMelbourne, Australia347 contributionsWent to Mong Kok Sneaker street to look for sneakers only to find every shop has the exact same thing. All small sizes as well. No good for Westerners. Its was packed with tourists all going shop to shop.
The best part was checking out the old neighborhoods, seeing the lovely old buildings with the washing hanging out the windows.
Walked through the packed market and glad to get out.
Only recommend if you don't care there are thousands of the same and only small sizes, otherwise stay away and just buy from proper sports/shoe shops.
We left Hong Kong sneakerless. Buts thats ok, the train ride and walk around was the best experience.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Displays are very interactive and as an adult I must have spent about a third of my time in the children’s section which is equally entertaining and cognitively challenging for adults. Displays are well presented and well kept. The only drawback is that the section on fossils was closed when I was there and that there is a large display commemorating the achievements of PRC scientists but this display seems rather more like propaganda and is monotonous.Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa LMelbourne, Australia347 contributionsThe MTR is an excellent mass public transportation system.
Cheap, efficient, safe, reliable & absolutely clean. We saw zero litter or graffiti on the trains and we travelled on them extensively across Hong Kong.
No one eats nor drinks, no beggars, no trouble. Its just so good.
We just used our mastercard rather than buying the octopus card.
Only issue was at times working out some of the signs and what station to go to but it got easier the more we travelled on it.
Best way to get from Kowloon back to Hong Kong island to travel the Peak tram as well.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
