This is a review for ocean park waterworld, which is different from Ocean Park.
This is a largely indoor water park, with an outdoor pool and some outdoor slides.
Easy to get in, no queue. Max queue was 10 mins for slides, but mostly no queue at all. Staff efficient at keeping things moving. Good number of inflatables available for pool and lazy river. Bring own towel. It's quite pricey, but this is a quality park. Loads of showers and changing rooms. Food is basic stuff. If you like water parks, this will keep you happy.
They do weigh you here, but do it in a sensitive manner. Take note Andamandia in Phuket!

For those looking to do a bit of hiking around Stanley there are a couple of trails nearby including a short route up to see the weathered land formations known locally as Rhino Rock on the Stanley Peninsula south of the village as well as Devil's Paw and the Snoopy Rock in the area known as Chung Hom Kok just to the west of Stanley.

We recently hiked up to see Devil's Paw and Snoopy Rock combined with brief visits to the old battery and public park at the southern tip of Chung Hom Kok along with the local beach just to the north. To reach these two land formations from Stanley, one only needs to walk the trail through Ma Hang Park starting behind the Murray House. Make your way west to the end of the park. You will find yourself at a roadside roundabout. From here, follow Chung Hom Kok Road west to Cheshire House. Walk until you start to see the large boulders on the left (south) side of the road.

You will notice a dirt trailhead through rather dense forest. There are red ribbons tied to branches to help you stay on course, which is actually a bit challenging. You'll need to scale and scramble a bit and duck under some lower branches for a short 3-4 minute hike where you reach an opening. From here you can see the Devil's Paw for the first time. From here, you can wind your way along the trail until you find yourself just in front of very interesting and large rock formation. From up close the weather erosion patterns are quite neat to see. Views from here of the coastline and sea are pretty good while sky conditions are favourable.

From Devil's Paw you can continue to ascend trails further south for another 8-10 minutes until you will reach an exposed outcrop of boulders. This is where you find the Snoopy Rock. It is not clear and obvious but from certain angles, one of the boulders sort of looks like Snoopy. The massive and interesting boulders are really nice and panoramic views here are really nice as well.

The trail continues further south for a while past a couple more boulder batches before descending downward to Chung Hom Kok Road. From here, if you still have time and energy, you continue south along the main road to see the old coastal defence battery at the southern tip of the peninsula. Or you can begin to make your way back towards Stanley Village. Note, there is a pretty good public beach at Chung Hom Kok that you can make way to as well if you fancy a swim in the sea after your hike as well.

The Beach at Repulse Bay is probably one of the best we have in Hong Kong in terms of beach size, sand quality, access to public transportation and area restaurants and shopping. This is a nearly 300 metre long stretch of seaside nuzzled up against the southern shores of Hong Kong Island. It is one of a series of beaches including Deep Water Bay Beach (to the northwest), Middle Bay Beach and South Bay Beach (to the southeast) and by far the most interesting.

You can visit Repulse Bay beach by public bus or taxi or by foot walking the Seaview Promenade from Deep Water Bay. You'll find promenade and pier areas on both ends of the beach with park benches. Alongside the beach there is a shopping arcade called the pulse, where there are a handful of alfresco restaurants, coffee shop, ice-cream as well as s sports gear and other retailers.

The beach itself is pretty good. In addition to the nice sand quality, there are several rows of trees towards the back of the beach providing a bit of shade on sunny days. You'll find expected range of facilities including public toilets, changing stations and life guard stations, BBQ pits (unavailable during the pandemic). Swimming is good at Repulse Bay Beach with normal sea conditions and views are nice with favourable visibility.

Do note that Repulse Bay Beach can be very crowded during warmer weather weekends and public holidays during non-pandemic times. As such, you may find it more favourable to opt for a second beach like nearby Deep Water Bay Beach if there are too many people here. Otherwise, this is a very good beach to spend time with friends or family on Hong Kong Island.

Being here made me sad as there were no tourists and it was very quiet. Things were cheap and plentiful but there was no one buying anything. I did get some cute knick knacks to bring home (a mahjong Rubik's cube was one of them). The beachside cafes were pulling people to go in as you walked by. It was hot, so I did go to the gelato/ice cream shop by the Murray House. A little over priced so understandably they had no business ($70 for one scoop).

Transportation here was easy - many buses or minibuses

While traveling this side of the Island, we made a little halt there, which I liked. It was seen on the same voyage as Stanley and Repulse Bay. It worked nicely as a destination as well. It was serene, charming, barely commercial, and incredibly picturesque.

One of the four beaches that you can visit as part of the Tai Long Wan Hiking Trail in the Sai Kung East Country Park is the Tung Wan Beach, which is the fourth if starting from your hike from the trailhead at the Sai Wan Pavilion.

Starting with (1) Sai Wan Beach, (2) Ham Tin Beach and (3) Tai Wan Beach, you finally reach (4) Tung Wan Beach. The trail between the first three beaches is well trafficked, wide and easy to follow. However, past Tai Wan Beach, it eventually becomes more natural, unmarked and slightly overtaken by vegetation. Yet, it is still easy to follow, you can't get lost, eventually making your way to a small cliffside that you have to descend before crossing over a cluster of boulders and finally reaching the beach.

Tung Wan is much smaller than its three sister beaches but is a neat place to find. There is a good chance you'll have the beach all to yourself. If not, there won't likely be more than a few others there, even on busy weekends when small crowds descend upon the larger and more convenient to visit beaches you will have already passed.

The beach is photogenic with nice sand and blue waters. It is backed by hilly environs and flanked by rocky shores. There is a small freshwater pool that breaks the sand in half. Once here, you are about as isolated from the mass crowds of Hong Kong as you can find.

Note: there are no public facilities at Tung Wan Beach. Do make sure to stock up on drinks or snacks at the shops at San Wan or Ham Tin Beaches prior to continuing onward to this location.

I came here via a short easy scenic hike from Siu Sai Wan. The last part of our hike was the descent to Big Wave Bay. It was really scenic and beautiful to see the ocean and the bay together with surfers trying to catch a wave. The sand in the beach was very nice and the beach was not crowded on a weekday. There were less than 15 surfers and swimmers. It’s not a huge bay but it’s good enough. There are a few local cafes and sundry shops open. There’s taxis and buses to take you to the city.

Cape D’aguilar is a cape near Shek O named after a former General and Governor of Hong Kong. It’s an easy trail that hugs the coast line and allows you to get close to the sea and breath in the fresh air, and provides many fantastic photo opportunities along the way.

After a short bus journey, we arrived fresh and raring to go.  Within a few minutes of walking we are greeted by sensational views of the ocean below us, we were stunned!  And of course, this meant pictures and more pictures! Soon we were greeted by a vast open space with nothing but nature surrounding us. Huge swathes of greenery and the clear blue ocean. It was bliss.

Turning right towards the ocean, we detoured to a cave. Possibly used by pirates or smugglers in bygone eras it was a breath-taking display of nature’s power. The waves crashing through the crevasse both deafening and awe inspiring. Was pretty magnificent.

Next it was onto the ocean and a spot of rock climbing.  Just listening to the waves and watching the sea, I was entranced and taken far away.  If I closed my eyes I could have been anywhere.  It was awesome to get so close to the ocean, exactly what was needed to clear our minds and lift our spirits.  We spent some time just sitting and relaxing, some even sketching the picturesque surroundings.

After many many photos on the rocks and next to the sea we spotted another cave. Crab cave because it kind of looks like a crab…. a bit…  you can check it out for yourselves to see if you agree or not.

Lighthouse was next on the agenda. The oldest in HK it dates back to 1870. Small and quaint, it would never be used in today’s time but was quite an achievement back in the day.

Just over the horizon is a disused military bunker, no doubt used to keep a close watch on the sea. Long since destroyed either by nature or by war, the foundations stand proud as a reminder of what was. It was here we got the best view of the day, the expansive clifs, the thundering ocean, the lighthouse looking over, and the beautiful sky ahead.

Aberdeen is Hong Kong's oldest village for boatpeople. Although fishing is no longer a major industry in Hong Kong, the old fish boats mark the city's maritime history. Walking along the waterfront provides a glimpse of the past and the traditional life. Some of the boats still sell fresh seafood and dried produces.

In contrast to the more popular Repulse Bay, Deep Water Bay shares the same sea with (relatively) less crowd. Close to an upscale golf club and some of the most expensive houses in the city, it offers a unique vibe not found elsewhere. Always cool to visit.

Loved going through the Plaza to get to the market on street level. Saw some very nice and interesting shops, all closed on a quiet Wednesday morning. At the street level there are some nice restaurants and winebar, and of course delicious doughnuts. Near a very clean and pretty kids park. I loved the ambience

An excellent trail, with incredible views of Tai Tam Reservoir, and a little bit later close views of Central and Tai Koo. From the Wong Nai Chung Gap trail, there is a 600 steps steep climb, but other than that it is all mostly gentle and should be accessible to all ages. Climbing up from the Tai Koo side is a good idea. The trail can get a bit tricky after mount butler as you hop on the Wilson trail, keep your GPS and you'll be fine. Of course, take plenty of water with you.

Visited Ocean Park on 24th Oct 2019 Thursday, it was not that crowded given the current situation in Hong Kong.
Most of the attractions no need to queue long except the night time Halloween attraction.
However we did not participate the Halloween Fest as we are with 2 small young kids with us, never play those thrill rides also. But my kids love the Halloween Trick or Treat because they got lots of candy, haha...

If compare Disneyland to Ocean Park, I would recommend Disneyland, more fun for us.
    That's my two cents!

Horizon Plaza is at outlet mall at Ap Lai Chau that is popular with local and tourist shoppers. In the past this place was a bit difficult to reach from the city, most using taxi service. However, since the MTR line was expanded to reach nearby South Horizons (South Island Line). You can actually take the metro and just walk 10 minutes distance from the any of the three MTR Exits there.

What you will find here is an old factory building that was repurposed into a 25 floor outlet mall, providing over 500K sq ft of shopping space occupied by over 100 different shops and outlet stores selling furniture, interior design and loads of fashion and lifestyle products.

Note: The ground floor is just furniture shops. This is what you will see upon arrival at Horizon Plaza. The popular high-end retailers take up space on the upper floors. When you go into the main entrance you will quickly spot the long shop directory past the assistance desk, where you can look up the floor location of the particular shops that you are most interested in seeing.

Note: Probably best to have an idea of what shops you are targeting so you can game plan a bit before starting as the lifts can be really slow going up and down, particularly on weekends and public holidays. Some recommend taking lift to the highest floor and using the stairs to make your way down when more convenient than waiting for lift service. This makes a lot of sense if you have a handful of different places you want to visit across various floors. If you are only here for one or two places, just using the lift may still be your best option.

In the end, lots of outlet with quality product lines available at Horizon Plaza for those that enjoy this type of shopping. Just remember to have an idea of what you are looking for so you can maximise your time here. Further, if you are just wanting more general shopping, there are endless malls, centres and street and outdoor markets throughout the city, no need to come all the way out here to Horizon Plaza.
