What travellers are saying
- CindyHong Kong, China2 contributionsAmazing tour with Sarah and Rex. A very interesting yet in-depth introduction to Cheung Chau fishery industry. The boat is near and tidy. An enjoyable day!Written 30 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Crystal007South Wales6 contributionsA really interesting trip seeing some of the island sites from a completely different perspective. This combined with Kevin’s knowledge of some of the history made it a great experience. I would thoroughly recommend this for a great experience with a really nice and interesting host.Written 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aima1 contributionI went to this cabin for new years with friends and had the most memorable time! Anthony is an amazing host!
Cabin is well kept and organised. Kitchen is fully equipped with EVERYTHING you can think of. Even an espresso machine. 😍 The bathrooms are private which is a blessing. Just pack a change of clothes and off you go. Views are amazing ofcourse! There’s a couple of great spots to hike nearby as well
Waterfall is serene ♥️

The boat collected us promptly and the crew were extremely mindful of our safety especially when in the water. The food was very good quality and more than enough for the people we had on board. Beautiful weather and a great day out. This is the third time we have used them and would not hesitate to use again. Highly recommended .Written 29 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pawan KarkiHong Kong, China16 contributionsI booked my tour through Sea Kayak Hong Kong's website. There were four of us in the trip, Our tour guide John Mel , Terra and a guy with her (I forgot his name) and me. At the beginning , our tour guide John explained us the basics of sea kayaking and after it we just went on the sea. We did a half day tour of Sharp Island in the geopark and it was a fantastic experience. It was an unforgettable paddling, with beautiful views and peace all around us. John knows the islands at the back of his hand and is clearly very knowledgeable of the geology of every enclave/ site we visited. This is definitely not a tour for the laid-back types - you'd better come prepared to put in a full day's work! .Put on plenty of sun cream, and wear a hat.Written 29 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MP909 contributionsWe’ve recently completed our Open Water Diver certifications with Splash HK and had a fantastic experience. Our instructor, Farouk, was a great teacher and always took the time to make sure we understood everything and were comfortable. I also needed extra time to get used to the sea dives and he and the Splash team were really helpful and supportive to help me overcome my nerves. Very friendly group of people with an obvious passion for what they do. We would highly recommend and will be back for some fun dives soon!Written 11 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanna W4 contributionsWe really enjoyed the junk with orange tree. Food was top notch, staff amazing. I do think especially when it’s raining and people are going into the water that there needs to mats on the floor to prevent slipping. It’s very dangerous and a few people really hurt themselves slipping in the floor. Overall amazingWritten 14 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MonWalkaboutShenzhen, China74 contributionsMy friend and I were up for a bit of sun, sea and s...kayaking, and I can say we had a great day. For people who love a bit of adventure, getting to the beach was a 2 minibus journey from Mongkok, first to Sai Kung McDonald's (hearty breakfast), then another to Sai Wan Pavillion (where am I?) From there, it's a 30 minute walk/trek to Sai Wan Village (village might be an overstatement :o)). Once there, you'll meet up with your guides.
In the village itself, there are publich outlets and some small shops to buy drink and even simple snacks. Also, from here, you can book the speedboat back to Sai Kung. This is hugely recommended as a) it's quicker than the trek and bus back, plus b) for thrill seekers it'll leave you checking your coccyx for breaks. Just akes sure you have a couple of hundred dollars each.
The day itself was hugely fun. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable about what you sea on the sea, along the shore and in the caves. After half an hour changing clothes and reviewing safety and equipment if was off to the kayaks. To b honest, some element of fitness is required as you will have to help carry the kayaks into and out of the water a few times in the day, plus the actual day itself involves a lot of paddling, so lots of upper body exercise is done. The guide is however extremely patient and will set off at a pace suitable for all, and will even go in the double kayak with you if you are v weak. For the full day, a basic lunch is provided, but it was filling and nourishing all the same.
At the end of our day, we still had an hour to kill so off we went into the hills to find a hidden pool (ok, not so hidden), where you could go have a swim.
Word of warning, unless you want to resemble a rhino, bring your sun cream and use it everywhere including your hands!!Written 1 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Zlil from Hopayacht was not only patient, kind, professional, attentive and always available but I could feel she really cared and wanted to make the best experience for all of us. and she succeeded much more than anticipated :)
She helped me organize the group, spoke with indecisive friends in a gentle and positive manner, attended to every need of our group members even without my knowledge, and also organized with no extra charges birthday cakes for 2 friends that had birthdays during this week, in addition to my mom's celebrations.
We also prepared a video and a presentation for my mom, and Zlil not only downloaded the video on a weekend, a day before our departure (it was ready just by then) , but made sure with the Gulet captain that they can show it on the Gulet after performing a test run with him and Aja - another Hopayacht member, based in Budrum Turkey that held a beautiful warm welcome for us when we arrived at the first day.
The vacation itself was absolutely perfect. The kind and professional crew, the tasty and abundant food , the relaxation, the beautiful private small bays that we stayed and swam in, the interesting islands with reach history and authentic beauty, and of caurse the free quality time it provided us to celebrate and be together with no worries about what we should do next - everything was taken care of.
The weather however did not cooperate. We had strong winds and even rain during this week. But even there Zlil showed herself to be the best service provider. She called us during the trip several times, offering activities that are suitable for rainy weather - such as organized tours, spa and so on...
I never had a travel experience where even the planning stages were such a joy. Zlil made it so by letting me feel that everything is under good care and control. She really understood our specific needs, knew the group members even better than me sometimes (friends of my parents) and she really wanted what is best for all of us.
We are definitely going to come back again for another tempting cruise.
It's ideal for group of friends or family that just want to have the perfect combination of fun & relaxation , water sports and swimming, exploring interesting and unique sites, and having quality peaceful time together which unfortunately doesn't happen so often in the hectic fast moving world that many of us live in !Written 25 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What surprises me the most is that you could shisha on board, which me and my friends have never tried before! Also, the board games are all in good condition and me and my friends all had a great time playing on board! Overall, the whole experience was really fun, and we really enjoyed the night! Would definitely recommend if you want to have a unique night out.Written 2 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradJillHong Kong, China156,946 contributionsNot a primary sightseeing attraction on its own, the historic Wong Nai Chung Reservoir is an interesting add-on if you are planning to doing any of the hikes starting from the Wong Nai Gap, including the Wong Nai Gap (battlefield) Trail, Tai Tam Heritage Trail, Wilson Trail Section 1 or Hong Kong Trail Section Section 5 trail.
What you will find here is a small reservoir constructed in 1889, predating the series of Tai Tam reservoirs further into the country park. There is a small park at the reservoir with leisure boats as well as a kiosk and public toilets. History buffs will also appreciate the waterworks structures (dam, weir, value house and workman's quarters building) that are collectively a Declared Monument here in Hong Kong. These are similar to what you will see later on if you are planning to walk the Tai Tam Heritage Trail.Written 18 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Opening hours change depending on the season so best to look them up on the Leisure and Cultural Services Department website - public swimming pools webpages.
Basically, this is a fair option for anyone staying with friends in the Tseung Kwan O to Po Lam area of the New Territories who are looking for a place for their little ones to have a dip in a pool. Not many hotels in this area, if you are staying at the Crown Plaza, just use the hotel pool. HI Express doesn't have a pool so this would be your closest option. Otherwise, if you are staying nearer to the city, you'll most likely have hotel or other public pool options that are more convenient to your location.Written 9 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Turns out they just throw us two stand up paddle boards and left. The staff member sees us struggling but they didn’t care to teach us anything. The OUTRAGEOUS thing is that they post a video of us figuring things out ourselves on instagram (without our consent) with the caption “join our session” . There is NO consultation and safety tips at ALL! Awful experience!Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
