It’s a great attraction and the cable car is something else with amazing views. Great to see the big bhudda on the island as well as the monastery. Only down side for me was the queues. It was at least 2 hours and unfortunately for me it coincided with some Chinese holiday making it very very busy.

My husband and I did a half day layover tour with Mel. He was a wonderful guide and gave us great information about the history and culture of Hong Kong. The visit to Victoria Peak is a must, with a beautiful panorama view of the city. We also squeezed in lunch at a Michelin star dim sum restaurant, Tim Ho Wan. Overall, I highly recommend Hello Hong Kong.

I highly recommend taking a walking tour with Mel. Mel exceeded our expectations and made our Hong Kong experience exceptional during our walking tour. He customized the tour to our interest and provided great conversation. Mel had us feeling more like old friends taking us around town. This was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. If you get a chance to visit Hong Kong I highly recommend you look for Mel as your guide.

We took the layover tour with Richard. This was our first visit to Hong King and it turned out to be a great way to sample it’s famous sights, culture, food, history and geography. Richard adjusted the tour as per our preferences and along the way gave us insights into various aspects of Hong Kong. Besides popular places he also took us off the beaten path to give us an insiders view. All in all the tour exceeded our expectations and is highly recommended.

My husband and I took the Happy Valley cemeteries tour with Stéphanie.

Her knowledge and passion for Hong Kong made this tour very insightful and lively, guiding us through the history and life of many important people to their contributions to this great city.

Thank you Stéphanie and HK à la carte.

Very fascinating and enjoyable. Ben, my tour guide made it all easy to take in. I walked more than 18000 steps (recorded by my fitbit) without feeling it. It was a phenomenal experience. I would recommend it to everyone.

My family and I did a kayaking trip to tje Ung Kong islands with Rory. It was a tough day's work. But a fantastic time with amazing views. You won't believe that you're in Hong Kong. Highly recommend all Hong Kong locals to give it a try. You'll discover a part of our city you never knew existed. Deserted sandy beaches. Unique rock formations and caves that you can explore and even go through. Keep up the good work Rory.

I did the 3-hour tour of Sheung Wan that included interesting bites of history and guided tour of the area including Traditional Chinese Medicine shops. I learned, walked and sweated a lot yet enjoyed every moment. Fabulous tour and Alex was super knowledgeable and kept us to time. All of us live in HK yet we all learned something. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have been fortunate to be able to travel the globe so I feel we're familiar with "quality" services versus those that lack. When I was researching local companies for customized touring in Hong Kong, I was fortunate to stumble upon Hong Kong a la Carte.  Throughout the planning stages with Alex (her emails were intelligent and she was sensitive to my ever-changing requests), and leading up to meeting our guide, Stephanie, we were pleased and impressed.

When we met Stephanie her charm and class were an immediate draw, but in short order we realized she offered more than that - she was knowledgeable, sincere, flexible, and patient. She was also proactive...offering alternatives on the spot when we didn't want to linger longer, or patiently waiting when we lingered too long! Aside from learning about Hong Kong's past (through conversations and historical photos she brought), we also learned about the city's recent history and current affairs. When we wanted to delve into the "soul" of the city and experience it more as a local, she was mindful of our comfort and safety while happily accommodating our every whim.

Since the weather was great in late December, we opted to walk almost everywhere but there were additional modes of transport sprinkled in.

*Ride a taxi when we were tired? No problem.
*Hop on a tram (or two) for a ride? Sure.
*Hire a private transfer vehicle? Of course.
*Take the Star Ferry and underground transit? Done.
    *Have our fortunes told? Scheduled.
*Locate a shoemaker to make custom shoes? She knew exactly where to take us.
*We inquired about a fave eatery she would enjoy for lunch one day. She took us to Hutong Restaurant in Kowloon. Aside from the unending views of Victoria Harbor and the city, the food was fresh and (very) tasty, served in an atmosphere of cool / updated Old World.
*Stop for that umpteenth photo? She even provided tips for better shots.

Within a day (or two) of our departure, Stephanie sent an email outlining the details of our experiences. We can't rave highly enough.

I would definitely recommend this tour. We had Ivan as our tour guide. He was really knowledgeable and made the walk thoroughly enjoyable and interesting. Although we have been to Hong Kong before and have previously wandered about in the Sheung Wan and Central area on our own, we never really knew the history of the place. I learned a great deal during the tour.

The tour operator (all communication was via Ada) was really helpful in adjusting the start time to suit our flight plans and agreeing to start the tour from our hotel instead of the MTR station. A day prior to the tour, they discovered a protest was planned to take place at Central and this would have coincided with the latter third of our tour. I am very grateful they agreed to go ahead with the scheduled tour after I chose to ignore all their dire warnings about the protest and declined the option to defer to another day. They could have chosen to cancel but didn't. Nothing untoward happened. We were very well taken care of. Ivan kept track of what was going on at the protest site via messages from friends. I got a few snaps of the police in their riot gear and guns loaded with canisters of tear gas from a afar up on the hill on way to St John's Cathedral. All quite exciting!

ps. I was prepared to get tear gassed, if need be, and requested Ada to get some baking soda for me ahead of time.

After the cruise line cancelled 2 of our tours in Hong Kong (due to the Chinese New Year) we contacted Alexandra and she was more then willing to help us in exploring Hong Kong. She planed a 7 hour day for us and despite the craziness on the streets, her and the driver were able to show us as much as possible in that period or time. We were a group of 10, the tour was private and she was more than accommodating throughout the day. Perfect English and very knowledgeable about the history of Hong Kong. Overall, very happy with her and I will highly recommend her for anyone looking to spend a day in that city.
