He spoke good English and gave a detailed description of the different places in Hongkong island. The vibe was laid back, relaxed and safe in his luxury van. He gave personal time to take photos of all the scenic spots ie. Victoria Peak, The Bay and reservoir, the American vs British settlement area. - Joseph R1 contributionOur tour with kit was amazing! We had a 6 hour tour and we went all over central Hong Kong as well as Hong Kong island. He was super informative and we learned a lot about the local history and culture. Kiyo had so much energy and enthusiasm and you could tell he really enjoyed sharing about HK. The tour was also very organized and everything flowed throughout the day. You could tell that a lot of thought and planning went into it. Even though I had visited Hong Kong before, I discovered new areas that I wouldn't have found on my own. The visits to local restaurants were spot on, as I never would have found these hidden gems that only locals know about. The tour was also very informative about the history and culture. We have been fortunate to have had several good ones. Even great ones. Ashley, however, stands out as among the very best of the very best.
We wanted an experience that was highly tailored to what we wanted to see and do and we relied on Ashley to help set the itinerary and she did not disappoint. A good guide for a traveler takes the time to understand what you will appreciate and then helps you appreciate it. This is not an easy task because the guide has to understand you sometimes better than you understand yourself, in order to be able to provide you with experiences you might not think you will appreciate or even know exist. But Ashley did a tremendous job in this regard. She truly took the time to immerse us in what we would enjoy, by taking the time first to understand what that would be.
She also went the extra mile so to speak in several aspects. Every tour is different and so how she did things extra for us might not translate as applicable to others and I need not list them here, but what you need to know is that Ashley will make sure you have the best experience you can. She isn’t focused on the clock, the penny, or anything other than you having an authentic and rewarding experience. Can you really ask for anything else?
It surely also helps that Ashley is a friendly, fun and happy person that you will enjoy spending an hour (or 12, as in our case) with, sharing conversation, perspectives and information. It’s like touring the city with a friend. And we appreciated it so much.
So on your next trip to Hong Kong you can take it on my assurances that you will not regret leaving your tour and sightseeing needs - no matters how broad or deep or personalized - to Ashley, and spending your time with her. You don’t need to look anywhere else. Just tell her what you want to take from your experience in Hong Kong and she will work it out to deliver it for you. Samuel, our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable and we were soon chatting away like old friends. The dim sum restaurant to try the local ware a very nice touch. Having lived previously in HK I learned a lot of new information. The food was good and Mel was great company and easy to get along with. We booked directly with the company and communication with Mel was easy. The light show at the end was a great end to the tour. He is very trained in cooking authentic Chinese food and learnt a lot from him despite being well accustomed to Chinese cooking in my family. The portion cooked is also so much that we had to pack the extra portions in boxes to be eaten the next day. He was really helpful and we had a great time, he kept the spiels short but still interesting so that my kids wouldn't get bored. The highlight for my kids was eating a locally-bought lunch while wandering through a market, watching the fish trying (sometimes successfully!) to escape!
