Very interesting guided tour of excavated areas, including history and walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel. The wet side of tunnel is well worth it. Bring shorts, wet shoes and a flashlight. It might be challenging if you suffer from claustrophobia but it is really cool

Instead of visiting a museum, you are helping create the museum. Great explanations of the history, ancient and recent, were provided; and also of the archeological process. Great for both adults and children. Priceless.

Excellent free tour given by Gabriella. As expected, this Library is a wealth of history and important documents, but it is also so much more. Its new home will be in a new building, but some special components will not be moved from the current library. Take advantage of the free Thursday tours to see the stain glass wall by Mordechai Ardon; it will not transfer to the new building.

I particiapated in a one day conference on the health and the environment with very interesting lectures and discussions, had an opportunity to meet and talk to colleagues and former students during the coffee breaks and the luscious buffee lunch. The organization of the meeting was very good and so were the facilities.

Our tour group booked a private tour and dinner at Yvel. Yes, the pearls are stunning, but the story of taking in and educating Immigrants will stir your soul (which opens your pocketbook!). The enormous vibrant blister pearls were absolutely gorgeous. Photo of a ring below. The Levys are as beautiful people as are their jewels.

It can be hard to picture what things looked like in the Biblical Temple just by reading the accounts in Scriptures, but this place brings the Bible to life. An incredible amount of research has gone into finding out exactly what the original articles in the Temple looked like, and here they have been replicated down to the last detail.

This was my third visit to the Temple Institute site, but the first time I had a guided tour there. Sadly, although the place is fascinating, the guide on this occasion wasn't as good as I hoped.

I’ve been on more wine, brewery & distillery tours than I can remember- both in Israel & overseas. But I have never been as captivated as I was by Benny at Thinkers Distillery in Jerusalem. His breadth & depth of knowledge was mind-blowing! And SO entertaining!!
Add that to a fabulous atmosphere, the best olives & breadsticks, and it all added up to a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
And the gin & vodka? You’ll just have to go & taste it yourself…..but I’ll tell you this much: we bought a bottle of each, and can’t see them lasting very long. Which means we’ll have to go back & see more of Benny. We can’t wait!
