- kenkehSubang Jaya, Malaysia4,320 contributions1st visit of Bishkek city is to Osh Bazaar , it’s a huge bazaar , different section for fruits & vegetables, nuts , grocery etc . You can bargain here with using app translate to Russian language . We bought some fresh strawberries 🍓 and dried nuts from hereWritten 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrc282World9,270 contributionsI hope they clean up the debris soon, the whole square is a construction site. You would think they cordon off better, but no, there are pedestrian footprints on wet cement, and I almost contribute another one
Will be back in a couple of weeks and hopefully see a change. Hearsay, the remodeling is to build a more fancy fountain, similar to those you see in DubaiWritten 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Juliet RBudapest, Hungary364 contributionsOne of the best winter trips I have ever taken. As a single female traveler always traveling solo, I was apprehensive about a snowy winter hike up a canyon. My tour guide was simply amazing. Mars was everything I could have asked for to feel secure & adventurous. First though, I have to say, my flight to Bishkek was diverted to Almaty due to snow & ice weather so I thought I would forfeit my tour. After speaking with Mars, he assured me that as I was the only participant for the day, he would await my flight. I arrived in Bishkek, 3 hours later and he was waiting.
It was an exciting drive in the snow to the Canyon and a great hike up & back. He had a surprise tea on the peak overlooking the canyon, as well as brief stops at an excellent local eatery where I sampled delicious local meal & tea.
I would highly recommend this tour with him.Written 6 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It had a nice little fairground in the centre with a big red ferris wheel in the centre.
Sone lovely statuary and plentybof benches to sit in and escape the summer heat.
Very nice place, I stopped by here on both my days in Bishkek to relax. The ferris wheel offers great views of the city by the way.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We needed some comfy pairs of shorts and found them. Prices were very affordable, staff eager to sell but not overbearing.
You just need to pay attention to your wallet, as everywhere, and also get out of the way as there are people with carts all over the place. It is a bit chaotic, but if you need something, you will probably find it there.Written 11 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place is amazing and you can relax here for easily 4-5 hours. You either bring your own chairs/mat or rent from the many locals who offer areas to sit and chill. We rented the place for 4 hours and it was infront of the river. You can see the horses all around, eating grass, crossing the river and so on. Beautiful place to relax.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MumbaiRidersMumbai, India1,904 contributionsIn 2011 the statue statue of the great hero Manas the Magnanimous was installed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan. The height of the Statue of Manas with the pedestal is 17 m and 55 cm. It is a bronze statue depicting the national Hero Manas on horseback and next to the statue is the official flagpole of Kyrgyz Republic which was removed during my visit as construction work was in progress on the large ground in front of the Statue of Manas.Landmark Kyrgyz State History museum is in the background of the equestrian statue of Manas on Ala-Too Square.Written 2 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelerCentralFLAClermont, FL1,781 contributionsVisited the Central Mosque. It was very beautiful. It has an immense scale that makes one feel the grandeur of the building. The color and symmetry are amazing.
I am not Muslim so I cannot comment on the religious feelings many get when worshipping here, but it is certainly beautiful.Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The 2GIS app is very helpful; you must install it. Google Translate is essential. Get an Oi SIM card with unlimited internet. Do not go to Osh Bazaar if you're traveling alone. If you know Russian, you won't have any issues. The city is clean and neat. The Yandex app is also useful for transportation. Be sure to clarify your order when eating out. Avoid encouraging taxi drivers.Written 22 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland11,334 contributionsAbsolutely huge monument to those who died in WW2 marked by an eternal flame and the huge arches meant to resemble the supports of a yurt.
The central figure is that of a mother standing awaiting her loved ones who have gone off to war. She is standing under a Tunduk, excuse my spelling as I don't know it, the centrepiece of a yurt.
It's set in a massive open square.
Well worth a visit, a really impressive Monument.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
