The guides we had in Samarqand and Bukhara were really knowledgeable and brought the places to light. I would especially like to thank the guide in Bukhara, whose extremely wide knowledge of religion and history made not only what we saw make sense, but also explained many of the wider aspects of the history of the place. All aspects were very smooth, our driver was great and the hotels Ash Booked were of good quality. This follows in from a great trip made last year to Kyrgyzstan. - Dion GAmsterdam, The Netherlands1 contributionGrigory was absolutely brilliant! We had issues with lost luggage, causing numerous changes in plans in the last minute. Grigory calmly accommodated us as our plans changed. He even looked after and stored our luggage while we were in the mountains, returning it safely to us when he picked us up to be transferred back to Bishkek. I don't know what we would have done without him. With the stress of lost luggage and not being able to start an event we travelled there for, Grigory supported us wherever possible and took the stress of logistics off us. We knew that wherever we wanted to get to, he would accommodate us. Vehicle was in great condition. Would absolutely recommend anyone wanting to travel in Kyrgyzstan to reach out to Grigory. - PandaHoustonHouston, TX6,120 contributionsI contacted BEX via email and the responses were very quick which I really appreciated. I arranged for a driver to pick us up at the Korday Border in Kazakhstan to drop us off at our hotel in Almaty - DoubleTree Almaty. We paid 2600 som in cash.
Initially they sent me the driver information with the name, phone number, car type and license plate. Then they changed the driver the day before. On the day we crossed the border from Kyrgyzstan, I could not find our driver so I emailed BEX and they changed the driver yet again and we had to wait 10 minutes for him to show up. We were told the original driver got sick.
The car they used was an older Mercedes but it was quite comfortable. The drive took 3.5 hours because there was some road construction.
When we walked out to Korday, there were actually ALOT of drivers asking if we wanted to go to Almaty. We even had someone say he would take us for 10000 tenge which is quite a bit less than what we actually paid. So if you don't mind negotiating a bit, you can get a car pretty easily. However, if you want peace of mind, I would recommend BEX. - JR6 contributionsExcellent tour company! Everything was smooth and Aibek was very responsive and helped to customize our tour to suit our travel style and needs. We enjoyed our 6 days tour in Kyrgyzstan with the guide, Aijamal. She was very interactive and shared with us a lot of Kyrgyzstan. We understood more about Kyrgyzstan's culture through her. We had an enjoyable trip with her who made it fun and interesting. We always felt safe in her hands. I would recommend tourists who are coming to Kyrgyzstan to book with this company! Excellent! The cars were clean, comfortable and completely undaunted by the rough mountain roads. The off-road drive to and from the scenic and remote Song-Kol lake was a highlight of the trip, as was the beautiful village of Kyrzyl-Oi. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned and the activities were diverse and engaging. Every aspect of our journey was perfect. It was our pleasure to discover Kyrgyzstan with Mirbek. We rented the 4 Runner for 2 weeks and adventured around Kyrgyzstan. April is a little early if you want to drive through some high passes. The 4 Runner was on great condition and we had no problems.
