- TravelerCentralFLAClermont, FL1,377 contributionsI visited Osh Bazaar on my visit to Bishkek. It is a very interesting place and has a maze-like character to it. I was told by local friends to be on my guard because there is some theft that goes on in the Bazaar. I found the merchants to be pleasant and polite and I was able to buy a few items for good prices. If you are looking for some of the wonderful local honey or bread or other local items, they can be found here.
As a note, not all of the merchants spoke English. Of course I would not expect them to, but if you are traveling from the West and don't speak Kyrgyz or Russian do not expect everyone to speak English or other Western European languages.Written 2 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It includes the statue of Manas, the large national flag, the History Museum, and a very nice fountain area. This is definitely an area one should visit if visiting Bishkek.Written 2 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria K3 contributionsVery interesting the museum. You can know how it was from the beginning to current days. - Nermeen84Muscat, Oman76 contributionsI like the idea of the park that it's free entry and you can just walk enjoying the delightful and happy atmosphere and get anything from cafes or shops while walking.
We tried one ride was nice but so short time.Written 25 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As a single female traveler always traveling solo, I was apprehensive about a snowy winter hike up a canyon. My tour guide was simply amazing. Mars was everything I could have asked for to feel secure & adventurous. First though, I have to say, my flight to Bishkek was diverted to Almaty due to snow & ice weather so I thought I would forfeit my tour. After speaking with Mars, he assured me that as I was the only participant for the day, he would await my flight. I arrived in Bishkek, 3 hours later and he was waiting.
It was an exciting drive in the snow to the Canyon and a great hike up & back. He had a surprise tea on the peak overlooking the canyon, as well as brief stops at an excellent local eatery where I sampled delicious local meal & tea.
I would highly recommend this tour with him.Written 6 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul TBelair, Australia54 contributionsThe moderate walk to a waterfall is about 5km return through some stunning scenery. Snow capped mountains and crisp fresh air made the day very enjoyable.Written 19 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elena WGeneva, Switzerland4 contributionsWalking in the mountains is very enjoyable and healing. The hot baths are an experience of their own as well, despite the somewhat neglected service and old-fashined "Soviet" style facilities. It was still a very very nice experience, i'd recommend to anyone.
Budda stone, old sanatorium, three hot baths (one of them is said to be with radonium, attention), and unspeakably beautiful mountains. Something to remember for sure.Written 7 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has an immense scale that makes one feel the grandeur of the building. The color and symmetry are amazing.
I am not Muslim so I cannot comment on the religious feelings many get when worshipping here, but it is certainly beautiful.Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He is a character with whom many are unfamiliar but because of his special status even the city of Bishkek had been named after him for many years. It's interesting to spend some time in the museum learning about Funze.Written 22 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
