    We been lucky to get guide from the museum joining us. He was of Chinese origin so
    it was interesting to hear his inputs.
    It was our third visit to the museum - each time with different guests.
    To compliment the knowledge one should also visit the mining museum in north Phuket

    We visited this 2010 museum in the rural northwest on our drive from Phuket Town to the airport. After paying 100 Thb each, we easily circumnavigated the connected galleries of the large rectangular Sino-Portuguese. Beginning with old photos, minerals and money> Earth’s geology> ancestral human dioramas> alternate mining dioramas> the mining process from ore to ingot> Chinese Hokkien immigrants to Peranakan culture, then old mining equipment around the exterior.
    This worthwhile museum focuses on educating Thailand’s youth about the wealth created from tin mining from the late 17th C to 1960.

    You will be accompanied by a guide. Do not hesitate to ask. The guides are very interactive, if you are interested. The place includes:
    - museum with stuffed animals and alive snakes;
    - holding a piton (amazing and was the best point here);
    - the show;
    - snake pharmacy with consultation;
    - shop of snake-made things, honey, teas, etc.

    During our vacation in Phuket we had visited the old Phuket town and the Philatelic Museum is located at a walking distance from the more popular Trick Eye Museum. This is located in the compound of the Phuket post office and showcased collection of stamps. This museum remain closed on Sundays.
