First, I highly suggest purchasing the GPSy audio tour for the road to Hana. Your phone's GPS will not work on much of the road and you will have no idea what you are seeing, where to park, or what to do next. The app will track your movements and give you great info, plus tell you exactly where to park, what is worth visiting, and plot your time for you.

Second, don't be intimidated. The road was safe, just go slow and pull over to let faster drivers by. There are a lot of turns to take some Dramamine if you get car sick.
The overall experience was awesome. We did not do the backroad, just the main road and turned around.

Easy dive or snorkeling location, great for a refresher SCUBA course and just floating with the fish. Not the best beach in Maui but I am keeping that my secret. I went there with In2Scuba and Mike was quite helpful and made sure everyone was safe. It is a huge tourist location. Lots of fancy hotels, a gold course, Roy's etc. so finding the public parking is a chore but it exists. It is also a good location to just beach bumming which I saw. Near to Lahaina for supplies or the Maui Brewery, 3:30 - 5:30 Happy Houris the time to go. Gas is 35% more, load up on the east side of Maui when you get your Costco supplies.

View from the cliffs is just as amazing as the blow hole. The blowhole can really kick the spray into the air. It takes a while to drive there, but the natural beauty is worth it.

This must be one of the best beaches I have ever been too. Beautiful sand and clear water. If you don’t like strong waves this isn’t the beach for you.

This was the perfect spot to stop to watch the sunset whether just a couple or a family. There is a playground and showers. The public restroom was clean.

Very cool beer garden and taphouse with a laid back atmosphere, self ordering with QR code at the table but staff available to help if needed. My wife did not enjoy one of the drinks she ordered and they comped it without a complaint from us! Incredible service!

Great beach in a very nice location (some kind of a Beverly Hills of Maui). The beach is clean, with great sand and smooth and sandy entrance in the ocean.
There are just a few spots in the shade, but still better than other, while you can also rent umbrellas & chaise longs (50 $ per pack or 30 $ just the umbrella).
Seems like the turtles like to swim in that area as there’s a big chance you stumble upon at least one turtle swimming in the water close to the land.

This flea market is easy to get to, has ample parking, and although the entry fee is a little cheeky, still a good idea to check out.

Enjoyed walking along the dragon's teeth trail. Beautiful way to spend a few hours. Some parts of the trail were a bit challenging along the coast so use caution.

We took an excursion for an NCL cruise for the sunset. The tour company was Polynesian Adventure. The driver was very entertaining as well as informative. The weather is definitely jacket weather, 84 at the beach and 49 on the mountain. The sunset was spectacular and well worth the long drive up. Definitely recommend this .

My wife and I had a pleasant afternoon at the Maui Ocean Centre. Our favourite areas were ‘The Living Reef’ and the exhibit about Kaho’olawe. We spent about 5 hours, which felt about right. I should say that we are the type to take our time and read most of the interpretive material.
The restaurant had good food. I would recommend it to adults or families.

This is a fantastic snorkel spot! But it’s a ROCKY beach. No sand so wear good shoes. And flippers walking out to the water. We saw 3 turtles! We felt the far left side was the best snorkeling or of your a strong swimmer wayyy out to the right. The jungle you walk through to get to the beach is AMAZING!! Video/photograph that whole walk. The sounds are amazing.

You’ve got to see this! One tree covering the entire town square. Clean bathrooms just catty-corner from the old courthouse.

Top 3 location in Maui, mostly fish but green sea turtles too, mostly on the north end. Good for snorkeling or SCUBA. Not as easy as Ka'anapali due to a stronger surf from the rocks and coral but just go early for SCUBA, just about anytime for snorkeling. Then middle is pretty boring now do to the death of coral but the north end is good and if you are good you may find a sea turtle fighting the waves on the south end and I did but expect drift of 12 feet at times and plan for it if you do. It is also too shallow for SCUBA there. Stick to the north end and nearby where is gets deeper and calmer.

Parking is limited, most people on this beach are staying near by including the several hotels along it. Gazebo, Sea House at this beach and Merriman's (very expensive even for HI) is between it and Kapalua (which is very similar BUT a public beach with easier access and facilities thus even better for some people. It would be my other top 3 choice for everyone, there are better places to SCUBA if experienced.

Again, wetsuits not needed in September, 82F, chilly at first but take 2 minutes to acclimate. Good for sunbathing but avoid 12-2 or get burned.
