If you are physically active, DEFINITELY do the combo of cave tubing AND cave exploration.
My group of friends is pretty adventurous and we have never explored a cave at this extreme level. With only our headlamps to guide us in the complete blackness, we climbed up and down steep inclines and boulders, squeezed ourselves through tiny crevices that then opened into beautiful massive caverns, got to awe at the “glitter” that decorated the cave ceiling and walls. We absolutely got dirty as we went spelunking through the caverns. This is NOT hiking with stairs and railings. This is very physical and not for those that don’t seek adventure. If you want to challenge yourself, do it! We loved every second of it!
After getting very dirty and very sweaty, we got to swim in the crystal clear fresh water inside the cave and the relax and float our way back to the entrance.
Our guide Vida was exceptional. We would NEVER have gotten to explore the way we did without him. He took us to places in the cave we didn’t think we could go - showing us how to wedge our backs on one wall and push our feet on the other and scale up and over spaces and reach new depths of the cave.
Personally - if we had ONLY gone cave tubing, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it very much. I would have been a bit bored. In addition, without a guide, you are not allowed to explore the cave like we did. Simply too dangerous, so get a guide! But after the spelunking without guide, along with learning about the cave and why it glitters in gold and silver and white, the cave tubing was the PERFECT end to an amazing experience.
Highly recommend if you want to test yourself and do something you have probably never done before!
