We’ve been to heaps of wildlife parks but this was a little different. It is located right in suburbia!
The kids had a wonderful time with heaps to do and see. We usually find the kangaroos are a highlight for feeding and interacting, as was the case here. The Roos were calm and gentle and got lots of cuddles.
Heaps of birds, some quokkas, Emus, goats, cockatoos, snakes, goannas etc.
The usual gift shops awaits as you exit. We don’t mind spending at these if it’s going toward a good cause.
Massive playgrounds just next door too.

Took our visitors to Koombana Bay where we all enjoyed a coffee at the kiosk and then viewed the various attractions and amenities. They decided to enjoy a lengthy beachside walk and take some photographic memories home. Very excited with their experience when collected later.

Beautiful Back Beach - perfect beach for a long walk and to take your dogs for a run and play. In the summer it would be beautiful for swimming.

I do love a good lighthouse. This one isn't open for public viewing but easy to get to. Lots of parking nearby and straight down to the beach

Best to do when not hazy or super windy. 25 metre climb to top but great view to all points of the compass. Take your time, its worth the climb. Parking for a few cars near tower

We were so lucky to meet with Nelly today when we visited and asked for a permit to the free camp and also for ideas on what to do around town. She is very professional, passionate about the area and informative.

Unfortunately a couple of the galleries were closed when we visited. Some of the art work was exceptional, especially some of the wooden pieces. In my opinion it was better than the Perth art gallery, which was very disappointing.

Wonderful insight into the past with recreated rooms in the original King family home. Our guide, Merryl, was an o formative guide and we spent almost two hours walking back in time.

On my visit to Bunbury, and as I enjoy wandering and hiking around, I walked around the entire estuary on both sides. This tour will invariably bring you to the Mangrove Boardwalk, which will provide you with some pleasant surprises. The Mangrove Boardwalk does indeed wind its way in and around the mangroves, however, there is much more to see. Bunbury seems to intrinsically understand its nature and wildlife, and it goes to great lengths to protect and promote them the like. On my walk, I actually saw what appeared to be a very large "sea hawk" mother flying into feed her chick. Bunbury has two tall roosts set up for them (i.e. that I could note). Once you have hiked the Mangrove Boardwalk back towards the DDC and come out onto the paved path again, be sure to look left and up! Perhaps you will see them or even better, you may find other interesting things in the mangroves...
