What travellers are saying
- ILoveDogs2014Orange, Australia36 contributionsGreat attraction for all ages. Lifeguards were on duty during the day when we were there. Shallow sandy area for little ones. Some shaded areas. We thought more seating, even just benches, would be good for those unable to sit/lay on the grass area.Written 11 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dave LMelbourne, Australia103 contributionsUnbelievably good! The entire 35 hectares is just fantastic. Allow plenty of time to stroll around. The conservatorium is divine.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SivyhuangAuckland, New Zealand1 contributionFollowing the journey of a drop of water, we learnt about the freshwater environments first, then saltwater, then the deep sea. It was a super useful introduction to our northern QLD journey!Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WayneO14 contributionsOne of the best esplanades I have been on, very safe at night and well lit up. Credit to the Council and QLD tourism for this remarkable creation. It wasn’t here when I lived here in 95, so glad it is now.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- B ASydney, Australia34 contributionsGood for a day trip from cairns. Plenty of time to relax, walk and see the sights. Make sure you have a driving plan before you leave, which is easy enough to find by checking the tour company itineraries.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- jennifer1962_12Melbourne, Australia173 contributionsbooking was easy, nice 50 minute boat trip out. perfect conditions on the day we went (i suffer from sea sickness and wear sea sickness bands) so the day we went was ideal, wind did start to blow up on the return trip. island very well managed, clean toilets and well organized. plenty of fish to see, whether your snorkeling or on the glass bottom boat. didn't need a stinger suit but there were plenty on the island to hire if you wanted too. Good for those who don't like to get burnt as well. unfortunately food choices atm are limited but hopefully will improve with staffing issues and time will tell. great experience for young and old. paths on island pretty good, easy to get around. would have liked to have booked the indigenous tour , definitely next time.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Jodie784Chelsea, Australia41 contributionsDefinitely something fun to do. A little crowded, so maybe go a little later when the crowds thinned out. Found a fruit called a ugly grapefruit that I’ve never seen before. Couldn’t help but buy one for later. It was the best grapefruit I’ve ever eaten. Also found a beautiful pair of stud pearl earrings.Written 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Travel wise twosomeGeelong, Australia91 contributionsWe spent a good hour in the museum. It showed the early history of Cairns, was very informative, and had lots of artifacts and photographs. A good place to go for a quiet time to get to know Cairns.Written 5 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CairnsHostessCairns, Australia41 contributionsIt is just a short walk to the gorge. The walk is cemented so it's not the most pleasant walk in terms of authentic feeling tracks, but the gorge is absolute magic.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CountryGirl201728 contributionsWe are tourists from NSW so came to visit Cairns to help boost tourism after the impact of covid. I was excited about the night markets but had been told there were a lot of vacant shops due to covid and this is true and it felt like it. There were plenty of people but not many shops at the markets to browse through. I hope you fill up again soon Cairns.Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
