The waterfront promenade, adorned with vibrant eateries, beckoned us to indulge in a gastronomic adventure. Families strolled by, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Every corner was photogenic, inviting us to capture memories. Truly, Darling Harbour is a delightful blend of flavors and charm.

Cool place with cool dudes. Family friendly. Good for fashion and food.

Fabulous place to live; close to CBD; on train and bus routes; close to Sydney Uni; many parks.

    Many heritage areas. Great history.

    One of Sydney's great secrets.

Although many of the venues along this harbour are a bit pricey, several of them provide outstanding fine dining experiences and some are not even all that expensive. The menus and specials are usually posted at the entrances so no unpleasant surprises. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. Some world class fine dining and drinking along that strip.

I'm not sure what areas the Sydney CBD encompasses but I'll assume its the area bounded by Dartling Harbour, The Rocks, Circular Quay, Botanic Gardens through Hyde Park and the Sydney Central Railway Station. Historic buildings, modern high-rise, transport services, monuments, museums, art galleries, the list goes on and all comes together to form a vibrant area in the city. We were lucky to enjoy the area over a seven day period and witness the throngs going about their respective interests, be it tourism, shopping, work or entertainment. Wonderful place to visit.

One of the many malls found along George Street . A mid size modern mall with a good mix of retail & dining. A decent size COLES supermarket adds to the attraction. Definitely one of the better mid range malls along George Street. Worth a visit

I went to the Kandinsky exhibition at NSW Art Gallery. Excellent, as was the Banksy exhibition the Town Hall. I used an opal card ordered online and posted to me, for trains and ferry. People friendly and polite, didn't hog the disabled/elderly seats and walked on left side when crossing the street, unlike Melbourne!. Only downside was terrible taxi drivers, rude, offhand and unhelpful and pretty much unhelpful re my interstate cab charge voucher.

Lovely to walk through Glebe. Even better if you go on a Saturday and can visit the Glebe Markets. Full of interesting stalls and you can grab some good bargains. Equally nice is wandering through the streets and soaking up the atmosphere of people watching the locals who are grabbing a coffee at their local cafe. Its walking distance from Broadway or else you can get a bus here from the city

George St is one of the main roads running through the CBD. It starts under the Harbour Bridge and runs through the Rocks area to Circular Quay and right through to Chinatown and Haymarket.
It is noteworthy for two main reasons.
Firstly, the new light rail runs along George St, making it very quick and easy to jump on and off and get to different parts of the city.
Secondly, it’s a very walkable street. For much of it, there’s no traffic and there are several points of interest along the way.
Starting from Circular Quay, the highlights are: historic Cadman’s Cottage, the Tank Stream Fountain, the Harry Seidler designed Australia Square (it’s worth stopping to look at several modern sculptures in the forecourt and courtyard), Martin Place and the GPO, the Apple Store, the Victorian-style Strand Arcade, the QVB shopping centre, the 19th century Sydney Town Hall and St Andrews Cathedral.
There is not much more of interest on George St beyond this point, so there’s no need to keep going. If you’re planning on visiting Chinatown, it’s still another 15 minutes walk and I’d suggest jumping on the light rail.

This part of Campbell Street brings the Bangkok street markets to Sydney. A great selection of Thai restaurants as well as Thai grocery outlets for the expats and the cook at home lovers. Easy to navigate and well worth the visit.

I was in the area so thought I would see what the hype was about. There are some very fancy high rise buildings, restaurants, shops, and lots of concrete. It’s somewhere a little different to see just once.

Burwood Road is a very congested and busy thoroughfare in Burwood, New South Wales. It is always full of traffic and getting worse! The street is full of all types of shops, but the Westfield shopping Centre dominates the whole area. The lovely park along the road offers the chance for some respite from the noise of the traffic, but it is probably a little small, but a welcome presence. In more recent years Burwood has become much more congested with the increase in population and the construction of far too many multi-storey buildings. It is good for a day out if you have nothing better to do. Good for shopping.

This is a nice area that used to be the Olympic Athletes village during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Now a nice suburb tucked away off Parramatta Rd, there are a nice range of restaurants, cafes and bars as well a a small shopping mall.

High end boutique shopping to be had in salubrious surroundings, treelined with architecturally beautiful buildings, flavoursome coffee to be had, by the popular local cafes.
