An absolute must see, and if you can get performance tickets - an absolute must hear too. Even if it is the last row back in the far end corner of the concert hall, it’s totally worth it - the performances are top class and the acoustics is superb.

This building is a treasure trove of boutique shops, decadent eateries and Victoria’s Basement. The building itself is iconic, a must see if visiting Sydney CBD

Views of the city, water, and landmarks are great, but it is a little pricey for the time you actually need to spend on the observation deck.

30 min is enough time for most people.

The range of restaurants, the openess looking over water and the sculptures along the boardwalk and the closeness to the Modern Museum of Art and the Handa Opera in Farm Cove.

This is the oldest Catholic Church in Sydney, having stood in its current location for close to 180 years, being first opened in 1844. During weekdays alone, there are four services a day, with more on Saturdays and Sundays.

The interior design and architecture are exceptional in every way. Although it's still young, I hope it gains more media attention when showcasing Sydney's beauty and distinctiveness ..

Pretty old building that we passed on way to Sydney Tower. Located opposite Hyde park. Loved the wrought iron gates. Didn’t go inside though

A beautiful church from long ago, neatly tucked away on Macquarie St. Lovely stained glass windows. A peaceful refuge from busy streets.

Located in Pitt St mall the glasshouse is another location that provides more specialist stores.
On 6 levels there is a decent range of fashion outlets that cater for most needs and budgets.
Not much in regards to eateries but you've got Pitt and Castlereagh sts to sort that out.

This was the Bank of New South Wales and later Westpac Banking Corporation. head office until it relocated to 60 Martin Place in 1970. It was built from 1927 to 1932. It was opened in 1932 the same day Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened. It also has the Westpac Museum at the front of the building. The Bank museum at 6 Playfair Street The Rocks is closed,

Thank goodness for people who are willing and able to restore our short supply of heritage buildings. Went to an art exhibition here and the atmosphere is lovely. One can imagine it as a family home more than a century ago.

Sydney train stations are mostly grubby and featureless but Wynyard Station is a bit special because it has the wonderful art installation, ‘Interloop’.
It’s a unique piece of art that celebrates the station’s history.
The enormous, 5 tonne sculpture re-uses two pairs of the station’s original wooden escalators, looping them together, snake-like, on the ceiling. They hang above the new modern steel escalators.
The wooden escalators were removed in a station upgrade 10 years ago but when they were being ripped out, there was a lot of nostalgia for them. They had been there since 1932, the same year the Harbour Bridge was opened and Sydney-siders were sentimental about them. Rather than lose them altogether, local artist, Chris Fox, took them and turned them into this permanent artwork.
To see ‘Interloop’, take the York St exit from the station.
There is also a large 1948 B&W photographic mural of Wynyard station above the new escalators which can be seen as you enter the station from York St.
