Torre e Casa Campatelli San Gimignano
#1 of 94 Museums in Province of Siena
A more interactive presentation than the majority of museums.
Very interesting and well setup museum - or better - an open house taking you through the history of Tuscany: the houses, the towers, the shape of the landscape and the culture it stands for today.

Parking was easy outside the walls and it was a great day for a walk through the little streets, to enjoy the piazzas, to visit the museums, the Duomo/Basilica, the Rocca!
Nice size (compared with Florence and Siena), tastefully done from shops to restaurants, very clean and fun to explore including the tower in the civic museum

Our guide told us that museums in Italy are required to be self-supporting.
TIP: when in Rome visit the Museo Ghiulia, near the NW border of the Borghese Gardens, to see the world's top Etruscan museum.
#5 of 94 Museums in Province of Siena
Great museum in the middle of nature.

One of several excellent museums in Tuscany with extensive and fascinating Etruscan collections.
We have spent a lot of time visiting museums and tomb complexes that show Etruscan materials.

There are different museums (old objects dating from the Romans, religious relics, etc) but what's more impressive is the rooms they are in.
This is a wonderful museum combining relics from Siena's history over many many centuries.

The Museum is relatively small compared to other Tuscan museums but provides a wonderful glimpse into the history of Siena and the development of their political history.
But there is still enough to see! Ticket price includes visit to the Santa Maria Scala Santa museum, also worth a visit.

A visit to this palace is absolutely wonderful, great palace, a couple of museums, one wonderful of medieval religious work of art and the best views of Tuscany around
- cost is 9euro for adults, 7e for children - price includes access to the tower and a handful of rooms below it with paintings and frescoes (nothing too special) plus the archeological museum and modern art museu...
