What travellers are saying
- RingsBellsSalt Lake City, UT13 contributionsI had set up a tour through the theater itself with Claudia. She was so informative, funny, and personable. We got to see the underground/backstage workings of this historic building. My husband and I are both musicians and all her stories were fascinating.
We stood outside the theater for a long time afterwards and just couldn't figure out how an entire theater (it's not huge) could be hidden inside what little you can see from the street. If you didn't know better, you would never guess it's even there.
Setting up the tour required wiring Euros in advance to the theater itself, which completely flummoxed our credit union, but otherwise, I only have positive comments about the whole experience!Written 12 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Saw this impressive building from outside.Written 17 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bryan W6 contributionsThe muscians or performers change sometimes- on the whole they were talented and ethusiastic. What ever the quality we felt better immersed in italian history and cutureWritten 19 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dunkin R1 contributionTerrible service, waiter forgot half of our meal and took 30 minutes to come back and serve us. Had to get up to get them for them to come back, they also called us names and their food tasted spoiled and smelled funky. They also dragged to bring the bill even after the complain. I would only come here if every restaurant in Florence closed and it was your last option. Even still I would only order a salad because it’s hard to mess up, and only they would mess salad up.Written 17 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - westy54Sydney, Australia9,053 contributionsLocated in the San Frediano district of Florence near the River Arno this small theatre (capacity approximately 140) started life as a small parish hall at the beginning of the 20th century. It developed into a theatre in the 1950's only to be devastated by the 1966 floods after which it remained closed for nearly 20 years until it reopened in 1985.
In 2008 the hall and foyer furnishings were completely renovated including the installation of modern padded armchairs covered in red material which gives the theatre a striking appearance.
We saw a concert for Ukraine there and the acoustics and view of the stage were very good. Airconditioning also worked well as it was exceedingly hot outside.Written 30 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I can't believe the expectations of some of the reviewers on this site. What you expect when you pay 25euro is exactly what you get, a performance by three very competent Tenors singing very well known arias and Neapolitan love songs. If you expect Domingo you need to increase your budget by a couple of hundred percent !! The people moaning on here have obviously never been to a major opera venue !!!
Go along one evening, high opera it's not but it is entertaining and fun.Written 6 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bad sound quality. No encore performance.Written 17 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
