We joined the tour at Malcesine (just outside it, opposite the Excelsior hotel) just before 8am

After leaving the lake we started to climb and could see the mountains start to appear. Note: I started to take pictures. Leave it until you get out of the bus! These are just the foothills.

After a stop for coffee we continued on before our first picture stop.
Go down from the road on to the grass to get better pictures.
We went on up winding roads that gave us views down the valley. Then we really started to climb, up to the pordoi pass. A chance to bit of lunch, take pictures, and take the cable car even higher - 3000m

At the top there are paths to stroll around and take in the views. They really are breathtaking.

Back to the bus and down through little towns with their traditional designed housing before a stop for apple strudel and coffee and to look at the wood carvings.
Then it was back to Malcesine, being left off around 6pm

Our guide provided a commentary all day, and I have to say that it became more entertaining as the day progressed.

This was a super trip and I'd recommend strongly. The views are so spectacular.
You do sit on a bus for quite a bit of the day but even then you can just look out the window and be amazed by the scenery.

Don't forget - take pictures at the stops and just enjoy the views as you drive along

Absolutely delighted we booked this tour! Our guide was Marin and had a super personality and quite knowledgeable of everything! Took us to the best spots at the locations for amazing pictures! We did go all the way up and well worth the view! Our 4 kids (ages 15-24) enjoyed his tour and scenery as well! Thank you for a memorable experience!

Alex was a wonderful host and tour guide. Perfect balance between guiding us and giving us space on our own. We would never have done this all on our own. Best day of our whole trip!! Thank you Alex!

Alex made our visit to the Dolomites more than an amazing memory.
Beginning with his fun personal connection and conversation- to his great knowledge of the towns, villages and destinations.
He made each stop special with helpful tips and advice- especially at the Sass Pordoi - where we took the cable car up the mountain- it was very cloudy but moving- he suggested to sit down for lunch immediately- we did, and 15 minutes later it began to rain, it was soon packed in the restaurant- we finished lunch and it cleared up giving us great vista views and nice hiking. I am sure there are other guides, and tours… I would tell you to choose this one and skip any others - he is well worth it!

Chialla was a wonderful guide. She was fun and energetic. It was a long tour, but the Dolomites were beautiful. Be sure to bring anti-nausea meds if you get motion sickness.

I have lived many years in Italy and can find my way around ok. I decided to book with Alessandro to go around the Dolomites so I did not have to drive. It was a fantastic experience and my family and I saw many sights and history that we would have missed if we did not take this trip.
Alessandro picked us up and thought of everything for our comfort. He customized the trip so we could visit a little town that we had heard was very pretty. He brought us to unique locations for food and snacks. It was a wonderful day. Thanks to Alessandro for being so knowledgeable and flexible.
