We took the bus the way up, and then walked down through the woods. Walking up is a significant effort, but this way it was easy and enjoyable. The church is wonderfully located, very much worth a visit. A nostalgic detail: my mother Elena visited this church in 1942.

Beautiful visit! Went on a rainy/cloudy day which allowed us to really focus on the flowers and other garden decorations. The weather started to lift at the end of our visit and we were able to see down into the valley. We parked by the Hotel Platz and the church and walked over to the Rosarium. Had a lovely chat with the woman who tends the garden and bought some rose soaps and teas before leaving - she also sells jams and other products she makes from the garden.

Quite spectacular to say the least. Cannot remember the cost but it was on the steep side however the views are amazing and at the top there are many walks to continue on. Extremely popular but the queues move fast and the journey is breathtaking.

Very efficient and easy way to reach the top of Resciasa which is a lovely area with good views of the valley. There’s a restaurant right next to funicular when you get off and you can reach a nice refuge - Rashetz - about 20 minutes further up on the journey up to the crucifix at the top of this mountain section on path 35.

Being a former train track, this path has a gentle slope, so it is easy to walk either direction. We were lucky with the weather, and enjoyed the gorgeous views up and down the Val Gardena.

Along the path are a range of boards, expanding on the history of this track (which was built during WW1 by Russian prisoners of war).

the entry to the pool was included with out hotel.... a bit confusing to start to see how to get into the lockers... but we got there in the end.... lovely outdoor pool with massage jets and a vortex !!! the vortex when full of kids after skiing gets a bit of an issue with people all over the place and people getting hurt... all getting whirled around.. fun but one needs to be careful with little kids... the slide was good... as well as the turkish bath area... the main pool just seemed too cold after the hot jacuzzi and the outdoor pool !

There are four different types of cable cars at SECEDA. We experienced on the four types of cable cars.
The first one took us from the base to a middle level. From there we went to the top most place in a huge cable car which could accommodate 50 people. After doing a two hours hike we embarked on an open cable car. After we disembarked we hiked for an hour and then boarded the last cable car which took us to the base.
It’s a great experience. Especially the open cable car.

My wife and did a Via Ferrata with Manfred (we did Piccolo Cir) and it was great. We both had only had a bit of experience with indoor climbing gyms but Manfred was easygoing, friendly, patient, and instructional. He also took some great photos of us! The via ferrata was a major highlight of our trip and would definitely recommend it if you are in the Dolomites and adventurous, even if you don’t have major climbing experience.

One of the most spectaular Barok Churches. You need to explore all the details of this unique church. Seldom have I seen so much beaty and crafmanship.

The beautiful little chapel in the center of Ortisei. A must-to-see when strolling in this lovely dolomite village.
