What travellers are saying
- Andrew WCambridge, Canada9 contributionsA beautiful well kept landmark church. The pipe organ is exquisite and the acoustics are amazing. You can see the spire from everywhere in the city and it helps you find your way.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Placeholder ONorthampton, UK34 contributionsThis is a treasure trove of Icelandic history, the highlights really were all of the artefacts from the time the first vikings settled Iceland right through the Middle Ages. If you’re not into history you might not enjoy the bull of this museum but there are halls dedicated to art and contemporary Icelandic history as well as going further back in time. Really was a fascinating few hours and if you like you can even play a game of chess part way around!Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - מוטי לKarmiel, Israel612 contributionslike lombard street of san francisco or nievsky prospect of st. petersburg this is the ultimate street of reykjavic, not long but colorful and very friendly atmosphere.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daphne RBrighton, Canada40 contributionsVery good experience and movie. The VR glasses in the egg chairs was interesting. Liked all the information. Only reason not rated 5 is we never got any of the pictures we took at beginning that were to be sent to our e-mails.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel ASantana de Parnaiba, SP102 contributionsthe most unforgettable trip in the world, you can understand why so many films that take place on other planets are filmed in Iceland, wonderful landscapes, breathtaking roads with excellent paving, majestic waterfalls, geysers, sheep, lots of sheep, it has to be on your bucket listWritten 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine PWrightstown34 contributionsa fun way to spend our last day and eat up time before heading to the airport. not as pretty as the pictures. i love the different pool options, but it is a little run down and sand everywhere. the people are rude. don't expect to take any pictures here, you cannot take your phone in the pool.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard WPenn Valley, CA862 contributionsThis is an open air museum which offers a glimpse of life in Iceland from years ago. Many of the buildings are authentic and have been moved to this location. Some are authentic to this location. The people of Iceland are descendants of the Vikings. They were used to hardships and using whatever was available to survive in this new land. Some of the very basic ways people lived were still in use into the mid-1900's.
I found this museum to be fascinating.Written 29 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You do need to check ferry times as their website wasn’t overly accurate. The island has an interesting history and there are many places that will explain it. There is an art installation as well as the natural wildlife. Paths are marked out as good, ok and a little tricky. Definitely well worth a visit.Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- CJWGlasgow, UK29 contributionsWhilst this is an expensive visit and is a fairly short VR ride, it was pretty amazing to see Iceland from the air. Really enjoyed the experience. There is a nice cafe/shop. Shame it is so expensive as we would have liked to do it again!Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom JLondon, UK1,776 contributionsWhilst on the last leg of our mammoth road trip in Iceland we were gifted some wonderful weather in Reykjavik. Given we have previously visited Reykjavik a couple of times before we had seen the usual "sights" and were taking a much more relaxed approach to our time. As the sun was shining we opted to take a stroll around lake Tjornin, enjoying the warmth of the sun and embracing the local wildlife it was a lovely stroll along the waterfront with a few statues dotted along the way.
The walk around the lake only took about 30 minutes and was a lovely break away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Laugavegur.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
