What travellers are saying
- Andrew WCambridge, Canada9 contributionsA beautiful well kept landmark church. The pipe organ is exquisite and the acoustics are amazing. You can see the spire from everywhere in the city and it helps you find your way.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Finn HaleReykjavik, Iceland3 contributionsGorgeous view, and lovely staff. So glad I could take my cousins here on their first trip to Iceland! Can't recommend this highly enough for all tourists, and even localsWritten 9 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Placeholder ONorthampton, UK34 contributionsThis is a treasure trove of Icelandic history, the highlights really were all of the artefacts from the time the first vikings settled Iceland right through the Middle Ages. If you’re not into history you might not enjoy the bull of this museum but there are halls dedicated to art and contemporary Icelandic history as well as going further back in time. Really was a fascinating few hours and if you like you can even play a game of chess part way around!Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - מוטי לKarmiel, Israel612 contributionsthis exhibition is the most important attraction which included in Reykjavic city card. the exhibition explains very well the development of iceland.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan D7 contributionsExquisite. I was in Reykjavik for four days and enjoyed Sundhollin every evening. I would recommend a weekly pass, if staying in Iceland for more than a few days. Instead of going to a bar or restaurant for Happy Hour, spend it with the locals at one of Sundhollin's terrific pools or hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, and cold plunge pools. Particularly after a long day trip hiking, Sundhollin is an exquisitely therapeutic way to spend an evening! (and a great way of abating jet lag too) .Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Daphne RBrighton, Canada40 contributionsVery good experience and movie. The VR glasses in the egg chairs was interesting. Liked all the information. Only reason not rated 5 is we never got any of the pictures we took at beginning that were to be sent to our e-mails.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel ASantana de Parnaiba, SP102 contributionsthe most unforgettable trip in the world, you can understand why so many films that take place on other planets are filmed in Iceland, wonderful landscapes, breathtaking roads with excellent paving, majestic waterfalls, geysers, sheep, lots of sheep, it has to be on your bucket listWritten 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine PWrightstown34 contributionsa fun way to spend our last day and eat up time before heading to the airport. not as pretty as the pictures. i love the different pool options, but it is a little run down and sand everywhere. the people are rude. don't expect to take any pictures here, you cannot take your phone in the pool.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Placeholder ONorthampton, UK34 contributionsThis was a really quirky museum! About half the space is dedicated to zoological specimens of animal genitals with the rest being the phallus across human history, art and in popular culture. There was also a small space dedicated to mythological penises which was hilarious. It took about 1h15m to walk around the whole museum and we were reading a lot. There is also a cafe with a wide selection of penis related literature and art books to flick through if you’re so inclined. All in all, a bit of fun and a chance to learn.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GarybaldbeeLondon, UK34 contributionsMy expectations were pretty low. This is, after all, essentially a museum about fishing, which sounds about as dull as it can get. But I must admit that I enjoyed my visit. The museum is small - it only takes an hour or so to cover it fairly thoroughly - but its thoughtfully presented and visually interesting. Yes, there are displays about fishing industry processes but there are also plenty of interesting artefacts and some fascinating model ships. We didn't realise the boat outside was also part of the museum until we overheard another visitor enquiring about it just as we were leaving, which was a shame. Perhaps that aspect needs to be advertised a little more prominently.
This isn't going to be the highlight of your trip to Iceland but its definitely worth a short visit.Written 5 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is also a sculpture garden.
Well worth a visit, it is located very close to Hallgrimskirkja church but I suspect often overlooked because the facade facing the church is rather forbidding. I went soon after it opened on a cold and rainy day and had the place to myself; but due to the poor weather I didn't get to see the sculpture garden.Written 30 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While prices are great compared to other stores, we were surprised that the airport was selling same chocolates at lower prices on a sale. And wine we bought at vinbudin (?) also less because on sale at airport tho Vinbudin has great prices too. We are still glad we bought early & packed but just an observation.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - D WSwansea Bay, UK268 contributionsJust go here. As a British person the receptionist explained all the Icelandic rules. It is a wonderful experience being in the snow and getting into hot tubs and pools. Great for kids with a slide into a pool. There is a lovely cafe nearby.Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
