A beautiful well kept landmark church. The pipe organ is exquisite and the acoustics are amazing. You can see the spire from everywhere in the city and it helps you find your way.

Gorgeous view, and lovely staff. So glad I could take my cousins here on their first trip to Iceland! Can't recommend this highly enough for all tourists, and even locals

Exquisite. I was in Reykjavik for four days and enjoyed Sundhollin every evening. I would recommend a weekly pass, if staying in Iceland for more than a few days. Instead of going to a bar or restaurant for Happy Hour, spend it with the locals at one of Sundhollin's terrific pools or hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, and cold plunge pools. Particularly after a long day trip hiking, Sundhollin is an exquisitely therapeutic way to spend an evening! (and a great way of abating jet lag too) .

the most unforgettable trip in the world, you can understand why so many films that take place on other planets are filmed in Iceland, wonderful landscapes, breathtaking roads with excellent paving, majestic waterfalls, geysers, sheep, lots of sheep, it has to be on your bucket list

This was a really quirky museum! About half the space is dedicated to zoological specimens of animal genitals with the rest being the phallus across human history, art and in popular culture. There was also a small space dedicated to mythological penises which was hilarious. It took about 1h15m to walk around the whole museum and we were reading a lot. There is also a cafe with a wide selection of penis related literature and art books to flick through if you’re so inclined. All in all, a bit of fun and a chance to learn.

This small museum was the home of Einer Jonsson and houses a large collection of his works, particularly his fascinating sculptures. There is also a sculpture garden.

Well worth a visit, it is located very close to Hallgrimskirkja church but I suspect often overlooked because the facade facing the church is rather forbidding. I went soon after it opened on a cold and rainy day and had the place to myself; but due to the poor weather I didn't get to see the sculpture garden.

Such a cool museum jam packed with information and cool artifacts. You can try on the jackets and take photos. The last room has headphones hanging that play Icelandic punk music. Truly unique experience

Whilst on the last leg of our mammoth road trip in Iceland we were gifted some wonderful weather in Reykjavik. Given we have previously visited Reykjavik a couple of times before we had seen the usual "sights" and were taking a much more relaxed approach to our time. As the sun was shining we opted to take a stroll around lake Tjornin, enjoying the warmth of the sun and embracing the local wildlife it was a lovely stroll along the waterfront with a few statues dotted along the way.

The walk around the lake only took about 30 minutes and was a lovely break away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Laugavegur.

Nice statue & while we were there poor Leif got a visit from a pigeon on his head. It is right in front of Hallgrimskirja-- so visit there too!

The Opera performs in the amazing Harpa center, which also has shops and places to eat and drink. The building is very striking, a true landmark and the theater for the Opera is also quite amazing. We saw a mini performance here.
