Did the lava tour on Feb 1st with my partner and we had the best time! I rode regularly when I was younger but only do it occasionally as an adult and my partner had only ridden twice ever, and we felt this tour catered well to both our levels. We were asked about our experience before being matched to our horses. My partner was given Harry Potter and unfortunately I can't remember my horse's name but she was very sweet and well natured. Two guides accompanied the tour and were excellent with talking less experienced participants through what to do, and took the time to tell us lots about their stables, the Icelandic horse breed and Iceland in general! It was also great of them to take the time to snap a few photos for everyone during the rest break. Despite the snow, rain and wind while we were out, this was the perfect way to take in the scenery. We would love to visit again in the future!

You can be picked up in town by the company at several designated spots in town (big busses are band from entering the city so there are many spots that you can be picked up from) When you arrive they have a very informative orientation to the centre. I don't ride horses I just wanted to learn about them. I was able to visit the stables and interact with the horses. You can ride a horse in the ring if you would like to. These horses are a must see for any visitor to Iceland. They are so gentle and are just like big dogs. They love a scratch, brush and are happy for you just to be with them. The even didn't mind my attempt to arrange their hair!! In my group of five there was a young boy three years of age and he was looked after really well and was able to have a ride. The guide was lovely really knowledgeable and so patient and kind. This tour is a must do item in Iceland. You are able to have a free hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate at any time. All the wet weather gear and boots are provided and they have sizes from small to extra extra large. You can take a free horse shoe home with you too!!

Iceland is spectacular, so it's saying something that riding Icelandic horses with Begga and Sveinn was possibly the best part of our trip. It starts with Begga and her instruction about the horses and how to ride—her love and enthusiasm for the whole experience is infectious. By the time we were ready to mount up we were all confident and excited for the ride, even those of us with little experience. The trails through the volcanic lava fields with their black volcanic stone, green moss, and red oxidized volcanic soil were spectacularly beautiful. The horses are a dream, with their unique gait (the "tölt") that makes for a stunningly smooth and enjoyable ride. Do. Not. Miss. This. Experience if you go to Iceland. Takk (thank you) Becca and Sveinn!

Absolutely worth doing. If you love being with horses and/or horseback riding this is a great way to do it. Pickup was smooth, staff really friendly, horses amazing, trail unique to Iceland.

We went on the Red Lava tour. We were completely beginners, a little bit even afraid of horses. Bot we really wanted to ride Icelandic horses because we have heard that they are more calm than most of the breeds.

And it is true! We felt absolutely safe and comfortable, despite that the tour was about 2-3 hours long. The guides made us feel absolutely safe. They were extremely nice and helpful, we were talking about horses during the ride and they helped me to overcome on our irrational fears and understand the body language of the horses.

I especially recommend the Red Lava tour to everyone because the landscape is just so breathtaking! It's like another planet, strange volcanic rock formations, vibrant contrasts of red and green. Amazing!

Thank you for the experience to SĂłlhestar!

My two friends and I very much enjoyed our horse back riding tour at Asia star stables. The Icelandic horses are adorable, easy to ride, and very beautiful. I especially appreciated the warm clothing the stables provided for us. The instructions given by the guides were very clear and designed to put new riders at ease. Riders were separated into groups according to their ability with more experienced riders and new riders in different groups. The more experienced were able to go on faster gaits than a walk, and the slower group was able to see some beautiful scenery while walking single file. The ride ended with beers and hot chocolate in a comfortable lounge. Very nice staff, friendly and chatty and so helpful with the horses. I can’t wait to come back!

Sooo I'm one of those traveller that is always planing to send a review but somehow I never really do it, mostly because it has all been said before... BUT this place is something else! The reviews even though they are good here - just don't do it justice! This place is amazing and the people working/owning Icelandic Riding clearly love what they do. This is the kind of a place that you will tell your friends and family about - even your grandchild will hear about the time you went riding with this family in Iceland. Its not touristy at all so it really feels like you just stumble upon a place that nobody else knows about. Being experienced rider it was just what I had always dreamt about - taking a private riding tour in Iceland on the Icelandic ponies. For the first time and I was just planing to go once I went alone with the owner called Nina but after that tour I just knew I had to go again so the next day my husband (a complete beginner) joined me he usually dose not like to come riding but ended up wanting to go again after this tour. They offer private tours and I recommend that both for beginners and experienced riders. So in total I went 3 times and I can't wait to go again next time I'm in Iceland. Both Jonina and Linne are incredibly nice and fun to ride with. If you want the real deal this is the place.

Everything was well arranged and they regularly kept a close eye on things. This gave me a calm feeling so that we could fully focus on this beautiful country.

We just returned from a fantastic trip to the south coast of Iceland. Iceland Pro Travel, in particular Yrja, helped me plan an unbelievable trip. She answered my MANY questions, planned the perfect itinerary, chose great excursions and selected beautiful hotels. We initially planned to travel in April 2020 but obviously plans changed. It was so worth the wait!!! I hope to return to Iceland some day and will absolutely use their services. Thank you again Iceland Pro Travel!!!

Outstanding service. Ingi went above and beyond helping me to plan the perfect trip for my family and friends. There was a group of 10 of us and she Was able to address any questions and concerns we had to build the perfect private tour. Our Tour guide Halli provided a perfect blend of the history of everywhere we went as well as adjusting the plans as needed based on our requests and Mother Nature. I cannot recommend this tour company high Enough. I would surely use them if I ever plan another trip to Iceland.

We had an excellent tour yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride, the information, and the history imparted to us. The car was comfortable, Arni, the driver competent, even in wet, windy conditions. His English was better than ours!

Many thanks to John Ker for organizing our 10-days special tailored-made tour in Iceland this summer. I guess we were the type of complicated clients with many requests which do not fit together, last minute changes and so-forth. The result was stunning not only in terms of discovering Iceland, but also and above all regarding your flexibility and availability, the accuracy of the explanations about what to do and what not, the quality of the accommodation, etc. No doubt we will choose John Ker again for our next journey to the northern seas!

The views were well worth the effort. In addition to the standard Golden Circle attractions, we've visited the secret lagoon, Kerid volcanic crater as well as the two other waterfalls, Godafoss and the Seljalandsfoss: this is the one where you can walk behind the waterfall itself. Well worth the effort.
