- Maryann LFair Oaks, CA1,328 contributionsWe scheduled the trip from the airport to our hotel before arriving in Iceland. Booking by phone was very easy. We arrived early for the appointed time and the bus driver was kind enough to open the bus for us. We were taken to the bus terminal where we boarded a smaller bus. Not all buses can drive to all hotels because of road restrictions. We were dropped off several blocks from our hotel. A young lady offered to help with our bags and directed us on the short walk to the hotel. We did not use this service for our departure. Be aware that If you choose this option, you need to allow plenty of time for pick up and transfer. We would recommend 4 hours. - vineet a1 contributionRequested a taxi with them for early morning flight at 3AM a couple days in advance. Taxi driver showed up punctually and helped us load the luggage. The mercedes van was very comfortable, and had Isofix that allowed us to install carseats for kiddo very quickly. The driver drove very smooth. Price was pre determined and competitive. - Sandra MHenderson, NV415 contributionsNo one there to advise much info. We had prebooked & paid for our transfer but they didn't take those folks 1st--and folks bought there at the moment. Fortunately we got on the bus & able to get to main terminal. - paxaWashington DC, DC6,693 contributionsFlybus seems to be the only easy way to get to and from the airport in Reykjavik for non group travelers - taxis are exorbitant in cost and public buses will take twice as long (although much cheaper). Hotel pickup/drop-offs are about $38 pp while BSI bus station about $5 less. We booked online and prepaid for a one way to the airport - for hotel pickups you have to go to a designated numbered bus station near the hotel, in our case it's just 4 minutest walk - and a smaller bus came right at the designated time and took us to BSI where we transferred a large 60+ pax coach (this is the part I wish they'd have made more clear as on the website there was nothing about having to transfer at BSI although of course it makes sense - and it works in reverse if coming from the airport - you'll be given a colored zone ticket for the connecting shuttle if going to a hotel - also drop off at the closest bus stop). Altogether the journey takes about 1 hour 20 minutes (the actual ride from BSI is about 50 minutes) to the airport. The van was extremely comfortable and capable of riding trough very tough terrain in the many adventurous places we went

(We didn't need a rental car as our tour company provided transportation.) Our incoming flight was delayed, but our driver was still waiting for us at baggage claim. Both drivers were very polite, professional, and efficient. - jsliwa29apexLancaster, MA64 contributionsas an avid follower of trip advisor reviews when travelling or looking for nice hotels and restaurants i was amazed to see all the positive reviews for arctic mike and knew i had to go with him to the south coast.my wife and i were not disappointed. mike picked us up at our hotel in a new mercedes 4 wheel drive van that was super clean and comfortable. we travelled to the south coast and visited some amazing waterfalls,stopped for a great lunch and visited puffins along the black sands beach, walked to the myrdalsjokull glacier and constantly enjoyed the scenery all around us.mike is a wealth of information on iceland and its history and is easy and fun to converse with. if you want to take a tour in iceland then look no further as arctic mike is truly the best and will make your visit the very best it can be.!!thanks mike!!Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
