- juintt2 contributionsGreat look around for the main spots to see in Iceland - massive waterfall, deep crater, tall geysers, cute horses…
And best of all, ending it all in Blue Lagoon, which is an incredible treat all on its own.
Would not recommend for those who like big hikes or a lot of moving as there are many sights to see and so a lot of time is spent on the road itself.
Would recommend for those who do not have much time to spare and want to pack in a lot in a day, just like us :)

We would have missed the hike if we didn’t reach out. The agent was so helpful (Sarae?); she emailed me links to all 3 tours we wanted to book so that check out can be streamlined. So while the website listing could be improved, I really appreciate the customer service. All 3 tours were great. Also, book directly instead of thru Viator or other middle man as our guide mentioned that sometimes people are assigned to bus stops that are not convenient to their hotels & there can be miscommunication. Stops included upscale seafood at two locations, popular Icelandic street food hot dogs, lamb stew at a local bar, and wonderful ice cream in a picturesque spot for dessert. We found the lights quickly and he said it was some of the best he had ever seen! The night was clear and the lights danced and changed colors constantly. We certainly enjoyed the cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate and the WARM Blankets.

- Lornac01Southampton, UK22 contributionsI didn’t want to rent a car (as would have been the only driver) but didn’t want to miss these sights so bus tour it was- and really pleased we did this - it was well worth it. Personally I d have liked about 15 more minutes in each location, just to take it all in (and also allow for the teen to inspect *every* gift shop 😂) . But understand that you have to keep to schedule- it s a long drive. The scenery while driving is spectacular. Thingvellar, Geysir and Gullfoss are all overwhelmingly beautiful. I arrived earlier in the day, and although a little weary from the travel, Ester provided such an enthusiastic and informational trip through the local food hot spots, it was worth every minute and bite. The places she took us, along with local tales, history of the fishing industry, dinner-time traditions, and personal stories all provided for a fun-filled evening. The food choices offered a keen insight into what traditional foods make up Icelandic cuisine, but also one of the best hot dogs you can find anywhere. Do this trip! I’m so glad I did.
I can’t even begin to express how much we enjoyed our day. Our guide Perla and driver Peter were amazing and genuinely kind and helpful!
We were so fortunate to have phenomenal weather, but the care the guide took to be sure we enjoyed ourselves was top notch!
We saw some amazing sights and learned so much about Iceland.
On the way back to town, our guide Perla sang us an Islander lullaby and it was so beautiful and a perfect way to end a perfect day!

The small minibus was nice and comfortable and we had so many cool thoughts that it was nice to have only 15 people getting on and off each time instead of a large coach bus of people! Our driver, Mitch was fantastic and he gave us so much great info in Iceland and its people. In addition to all the regular stops, we also stoped to feed some Icelandic horses and get delicious ice cream from a local farm. We even did Fly over Iceland after the day tour because Mitch recommended it. We loved everything about our day!! - Lornac01Southampton, UK22 contributionsThis was a real highlight of our trip to Iceland for me (and my non horse loving teenager liked it too!!). The horses were lovely, everything I had read about the sweet nature of these horses was true. They were fab to ride, the stables well kept and the staff kind and helpful. We had the pick up and it was on time. The ride was about 90 mins all in all and goes through ancient lava fields on well kept trails. I joined the faster group — we tolted which I had so wanted to do, very different gait and comfortable once you get it.
