Karitas on our food tour was an excellent guide, full of enthusiasm knowledge and humour.
It was a great trip and if you’re heading to Reykjavik I couldn’t recommend this trip highly enough.

I love food, it gives me great joy, and I love trying new recipes. I also love visiting new places and learning about the history of the folk and their traditions and I also love a good storyteller. This tour checked all the boxes for me. The guide, Pal, a weathered fisherman, tall with white flowing locks, could play the part of Santa in a movie. Pal, was wonderful, a great storyteller, and loved his native Iceland, and its food. He kept us entertained and informed with great stories of his life as a fisherman, and the history of his beautiful town and brought us to the best eateries in town. I tried everything and I was blown away by the taste of it all. I even tried (and smelled - eeuuu!) the fermented shark, and as tradition goes, I chewed it twice, swallowed and washed it down with a shot of Snapps! Don't be scared, the stories are worst than its bite ;-)

Helgi is the best tour guide/drinking buddy ever! As a born and bred ReykvĂkingur he knew plenty of fun facts about the city. He encouraged us to ask questions about the culture of the city and country. He kept the conversation lively and truly was "our friend in Reykjavik."

I'm a gin cocktail drinker and Helgi accommodated me beautifully among the beer drinkers, helping me choose the best Icelandic gin to try. We got our money's worth on the tour for sure, highly recommend!

Very insighful experience. Einar was articulate and had a great sense of humor. It was very thoughtful of him to send a photo log following the tour so we have a pictorial memory. The tastings were plentiful and included some "interesting" morsels. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful tour with Troll. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and interactive. Dress warm and in layers, the mini bus can get rather warm. Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes, you are going to be on the go quite a bit. Make sure to carry water and snacks on the tour. Food is very expensive in Iceland so try to share your meal if you have to stop for lunch. Kerid Cater was beautiful, you take a small uphill hike to see it all. Bruarfoss and Gulfoss are so picturesque there are a lot of steps but so worth it, and the Golden Circle I just don't get. There is a nice geyser that spouts off every few minutes and some hot spots with boiling water and steam coming out. Most of the area was roped off. I have been to Yellowstone and maybe expected just a bit too much. We stopped in Laugarvatn where bread is baked in the ground and eggs are boiled in a hot stream. The scenery on this tour is just fantastic.

The tour was amazing, Haddie, the guide was entertaining and very funny. The restaurants were very good and accommodating for a person in our group who did not eat lamb. My group would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who asks for something to do.

Enjoyed the variety of food throughout the tour. Our guide was good at explaining the history of each establishment and food we were sampling. We loved that he included personal stories of how he and his family lived out the traditions. Recommend doing the food tour on first days of your visit as it is a great introduction to the culture and food of the area.

Absolutely amazing! We appreciate the venue working with us as the event confirmation from TripAdvisor was not received by the restaurant. The food was fantastic and overall a wonderful experience.

I visited Reykjavik with my sister and can only warmly recommend this tour if you want to dive into the local food scene. I wouldn't have tried dried fish otherwise and found out how delicious I find it. Seriously - give it a try!
In addition to the dried fish, I also ate some delicious salmon, tasted the different types of bread and learnt which dishes Icelanders have adopted and customised from other countries.
The food was very varied and accompanied by fascinating anecdotes about life in Iceland and interesting facts about the local food culture. I felt like i was getting a glimpse of Reykjavik away from the tourist attractions.
Not only did i learn and try a lot, i also felt that i was in good hands. Our lovely tour guide was a huge foodie herself and she was able to pass on her enthusiasm for good food to me. The atmosphere was relaxed and easy-going. I'd love to come back when I'm there again.

We booked the private northern lights tour with lobster feast with Thor for our trip to Iceland in February. Thor arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we had a night to remember! The lobster feast really was a feast (delicious) and Thor made sure we were at a prime spot for the Northern Lights (we got engaged beneath them!) My partner had planned this prior to the trip and Thor made him feel completely at ease, even keeping hold of the ring during dinner and bringing some champagne along with him (requested and paid for by my partner in advance). We were incredibly lucky and the lights were very clear, Thors photography captured the moment and we have priceless photos/memories which will last a lifetime. THANK YOU for such an incredible experience and we would highly recommend for anyone looking at booking for that special occasion!

This tour was my absolute favorite! She took us everywhere downtown and explained all the traditions, folklore, history, etc. We even got a present at the end. And she let us try some famous Icelandic cuisine. Highly highly recommend!!
