Arrived for a scheduled hour visit. That was not enough time. The time to see the city, look at the many exhibits, and take in the informative cards required at least another 30-45 minutes. For families this is a great place to get those photos of your children excited about the many exhibits of bears, bugs, volcanoes and such.

How is spectacular. The architectural work at this building/facility is awesome. The insight roof is like a work art. Overall, nice and clean facilities

The simple, clean look of this towering structure is a sight to see in person. Photos do not do it justice. Get up close and the size begins to draw you in. Inside you feel comfortable with the simple, clean look that provides a calming effect.

We toured this museum on our first day in Iceland. It gave us insight into the history and culture of the country we were getting ready to tour. Good to have this type of information so the remainder of our visit was more meaningful.

Vey informative exhibits about Northern Lights. Wish had more "video" of the real thing. Great for those who come in summer or winter time with not so great viewing opps.

This gem in the heart of Reyjavik is well worth the visit. After traveling around Iceland for a week, it was great to learn about the settlement of Iceland in the 900s and to learn to history until present time. This museum offers a glimpse into the lives of early settlers with an excavated longhouse. There are different levels and floors to the museum, each one offering information about different parts of Iceland's history. I recommend 2 hours for this museum. The tickets are about $15 per adult.

It looks like a Viking Ship, but walk around it and be imaginative. Why this design, why these proportions and why so many pointy ends? Photographers will enjoy the challenge of perspective.

It's not the easiest place to reach on public transit, but easy with a car. It's not somewhere to spend a huge amount of time. However, Iceland went through a massive transformation in the mid 20th century. This place shows life as it was less than 100 years ago, albeit unrecognisable against today's Iceland. I really enjoyed it.

We stayed just around the corner from Laugavegur so it was a quick walk to this street packed with shops and dining. Definitley something for everyone!

Gunner gave me the best massage I’ve ever had, truly took pride in his craft. The saunas and plunge pool in the spa were also top tier, and the outside pool was an experience in winter. Full recommend this place, especially if you ever get stuck in reykjavik during the winter because your tour has been cancelled!

This is a nice area. We went during the day to see the lighthouse. It a good place close to town to watch for the northern lights.

I went over to the island to walk around and read the history. Free toilets on the island. Nice cafe in an old building with good food. When I was ready to leave I took the ferry back to the old harbor instead of where I started. Could see the peace tower from the ferry as well as walk to it on the island.

A small museum (based in a disused WC at Bankastraeti 2), an informative and interactive insight into the roots of Icelandic PUNK. The curator was very knowledgeable and i could have sat there all day discussing all genres that lead the way to Punk!

Don't look at the negative reviews tis is a honest real experience!!

Great museum, more broad than I expected. While the namesake objects are the primary display, most of the info is about the varied and unusual courting and mating habits of each animal on display. The info is fascinating and something that's usually skipped in most museums despite being a normal and important part of animal behaviour.

Nice cafe too. Like most attractions I visited in Iceland they could improve their gift shop selection, I expected to find more items like I saw in the old museum I saw in the documentary but the items were a bit gimmicky. The museum however was excellent and well priced.

We enjoyed learning about the fishing industry and how it has changed Iceland over the years. The free coffee at the end was a lovely bonus on a cold day.
