Langhe landscapes UNESCO Alba
#1 of 357 Nature & Parks in Piedmont
Walking offers the advantage over driving and cycling of being able to truly appreciate and experience the landscape, without worrying about road conditions, traffic, where to park, or other drivers.
;) It was unfortunate that there were not many observation points where you can park comfortably and enjoy the view, so I guess it could be a problem in a busy season though.

Lago Maggiore Verbania
#3 of 357 Nature & Parks in Piedmont
Like all the lake towns, stop and park, because what you see from the road view, is a fraction of the fascinating architecture that lies hidden from the lakes frontage.
As we were making our way along the promenade skirting the lake park we came upon a table set up by a man in a captain's hat, who was selling boat tickets.

The park is big, but it has well kept paths, a small lake, restaurants, toilets, and other attractions.
Parco del Valentino Turin
#11 of 357 Nature & Parks in Piedmont
The Park of Valentino is really amazing: there is an ancient part with a historical fountain dated 1898, the "12 monts fountain", and a huge green area to walk, run and relax.
It is quite a large park, so it can contain a number of diverse attractions, including: * Castello del Valentino * Medieval Castle and Village (although having to pay for access to parts is a bit rich ...) * an ar...

This park is definitely a mecca for walkers and bikers on a beautiful Torino day.
No crowds, or else they are so diluted in the 3000 hectares of forests, lawns, bushes and grass plains that you won't notice them more than you do the other cute inhabitants of the park : deers, wild boars, raccoo...
