It was very handy to take advantage of our tour guides experience to navigate us around the museum and give us queue skipping access to the basilica. 100% worth doing for the queue jumping alone as we had access to areas unavailable to the general public. - Jenna CBedford, UK22 contributionsI highly recommend this day trip. From start to finish the whole thing is planned so well! We started in Pompeii, then had a Delicious Pizza for lunch. We then stopped for Limoncello tasting and Finished off shopping and eating Gelato in Sorrento!
Our guides Fabrizio and Michele were FANTASTICO🤩🤩🤩 not forgetting our trusty driver Ceaser.

Carl was very knowledgable, shared stories about the paintings, sculptures with lot of energy and passion and answered all our questions. Carl made sure he was clear on his instructions and made everyone feel very comfortable. Check in was very easy. Colosseum was awesome, Roman Forum and Palatine hill was a bonus for me, It is where Rome began and felt like walking in History. Too much to do in one day for me though we came back a second day to experience palatine hill and our tickets were still valid. Our contact was where he said he would be but to be honest his only input was to tell us where the entrance was and which que to join, it is definitely a bonus to have the skip the line tickets purchased before your trip. The audio guide on your phone was a major disappointment for me. Downloading and all sorts of connectivity issues and when it did work the info was poor. She’s very knowledgeable and makes the tour fun with her sense of humor and references to music we all know. I noticed she gave us detailed information in specific rooms that other guides were skipping. He wrote a book about gladiators and has a depth of knowledge about Roman history that could inspire one to major in the subject at school. My husband and I learned so much -not just about the colosseum and the forum and the surrounding ruins but about the history of the Roman senate, Roman populous and the how the church took over and affected the ruins.
He was fascinating! I’m going to buy his book because if it was half as interesting as his tour it will be worthy read. Our tour guide (sorry forgot your name) literally broke his toe earlier in the day and was clearly in pain. He still showed up and gave us one of the best tours I’ve ever had.
