- Dan LWillesden, UK444 contributionsWhat a specular hike. It isn't for the novice, and does require some prior hoking experience. But the MedStep was specular, and a really great experience. You get to see some great views on the back of The Rock, and also challenge your hoking skills. You do need to be careful as some of the paths are narrow and unsupported. But the views and 2nd to none across the whole of the island.Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland11,521 contributionsSmall but beautiful botanic garden complex about 15 or 20 minutes walk from Main Street. I really enjoyed a ramble in such a peaceful place. Completely free and lots of benches scattered around to sit on and enjoy the place.Written 25 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gerry D13 contributionsReally well put together museum. Small enough to see everything but big enough to have learned a thing or two. Great staff and some good exhibits.
We had been a few years ago and recently went back so didn't see much change but was still a good place to go for the history buff.Written 24 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was fascinating to discover that the area it occupied was originally a miniature golf course that had descended into neglect. With an ever increase in the animals being rescued it was decided to use the location for the care of the animals.Written 18 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It became a meeting place for Garrison Officers but also was an essential component of training for military personnel.
Luxurious furnishings and comforts are paramount. A plethora of volumes and tomes are kept in bookcases, some quite venerable looking. It was interesting to see multiple bound volumes of the National Geographic magazine.
Lovely gardens provide open air spaces for relaxation amongst the grand flora.
It continued as a military Library till 2011 when it was acquired by the state.Written 17 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Flash7289Plymouth, UK8 contributionsOrganised a Military History tour of the Rock with Steve and wasn't disappointed, even my wife who was sceptical as military history isn't really her thing absolutely loved the tour.
Steve's knowledge, professionalism and very likeable nature make him the only tour guide you need should you be considering any tours of the Rock.
Thank you for a cracking morning, we will be back for more!!!Written 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
